You better take pictures of these awesome adventures and post them up here. :photo:
I want pictures of the nerdy bags over your feet as well.

Your shoes get soaked, but your feet still feel great.
I've got these sandwich bags that fit perfectly. You hardly know they're there.

It snowed once in Alabama. My mother, from Philly, made us wear plastic bags on our feet.

It snowed two or three times I think while I was in the monastery. It was amazing. Didn't last more than a few hours, but it was so beautiful.

I think twice I was an extern and once when I was in the cloister. The first time it happened I was out shopping in Cullman... and someone said to be careful because it was going to snow. And we were laughed because it didn't even seem that cold. Then sure enough, five minutes later it was snowing!

I was so excited... It was the first time I'd seen it snow. And the sister I was with was from Chicago and didn't think she'd ever see snow again, so even though it wasn't that much compared to what she was used to, she was excited too. When we got home the sisters were out having a snowball fight. :) :bounce: And walking on the Piazza... I wish I had pictures of it all.

I don't remember the time I was in the cloister too well. I think I was refectorian at the time and couldn't leave work to go outside. I think I walked around the enclosure wall a bit though... It was amazing how the snow made the enclosure look like a totally different place.

The last time must have been right after I finished my canonical year... so the externs went out by the parking lot and had a snowball fight again. In public! There weren't too many people around though, and I DOUBT we scandalized the security guard,.

I'll admit though, none of us were quite prepared for snow. Perhaps we should have wrapped our feet in plastic bags... :scratchhead:

Anyway... good times. ^_^

We all know how to drive in snow up to the axels, with ice underneath. ;)
 Where I grew up knowing how to drive in the snow is a requirement (lake effect snow, if you can't drive in it you don't leave home for at least 6 months). Down here in GA it's a hazard to your health.

:hehe: I remember when I was in grade school the kids who walked to and from school ("walkers" we called them) would wear bread bags on their feet.

It snowed once at Benning last year. They shut everything down that day and the following day---the snow had melted before dusk on the first day. (To be fair I think we may have had a tornado watch the next day, but I don't remember for certain.)

In Oklahoma we got more ice than snow. We'd also shut down, but that was because the ice th broke trees all over town, and half a million people were without electricity. Here, they can get 6 feet of snow, and no one is late to work. At least we rarely get snow and -40 at the same time here. It rarely snows below -20 because it's too cold to snow. You can freeze dry stuff on your patio. That's kind of cool.
