Nihil Obstat
I'm about as wary of moose as I am of bears. Moose can be aggressive, and if they are, they're every bit as dangerous. Rather frightening, when you take into account how monstrous they are.
Innocent
I wish there were some other commonly found object in the photograph so that the viewer can roughly estimate the size of that moose in proportion to that. But the only things in the photo other than the moose are the trees. Can anyone here make a guess about the approximate height of those trees? Or at least the width of that path/road? [/quote] Judging by the baby tree just to the fore of the moose, I'd estimate that the moose itself is around seven feet tall at the shoulders. Give or take four inches. I can't even imagine weight. Jesus_lol
well the average width of a car is 6 feet, so that road is probably just a bit wider than that. makes my guess at 7plus feet at the shoulder. moose average height is 6.5-7.5 ft at the shoulder, largest one found was7.8ft tall and 1800 pounds Edited October 20, 2009 by Jesus_lol

I suppose you could train one to the point that you could ride it, but with a wild animal like that, I'd also expect that it could turn on you no matter how well trained it was. Calves?) you might have a better chance of training them, I suppose? I wonder why if anyone has done this so far? I've heard of people domesticating and riding ostriches. Why not moose?
