Because they kill and maim thousands of people every year, including children. Fireworks cannot be justified by any sane principles. Are you saying you support something that kills kids and wipes out entire families in house fires? Fireworks don't do any good and people who support them are barbarians. Future generations will look back on the firework loving people of our time with utter disbelief. Woe to you who support fireworks! Bunnies on the other hand... Excepting that killer bunny from MP&THG of course.
Ahh yes, your conscience is speaking to you; fireworks are indeed a plague. Of course this issue goes beyond festive pyrotechnics, this is a critique of all post-fire human culture. The discovery of fire is a tragedy that must be undone. FIRE BAD!! Please tell me you are at least questioning your support of fire?
Laudate_Dominum
Cars kill people. Water kills people. Toasters kill people. All these things should be banned?
Cars and toasters yes, water no because it is useful for putting out fires and is necessary for drinking lest we all perish. I believe in going back to pre-fire civilization; it was superior in so many ways and the arguments to the contrary are misguided and irrelevant. FIRE BAD! my friend. Cars are based on fire and toasters are based on fire.
Laudate_Dominum
No one has the nerve to challenge me in my rejection of post-fire civilization (so-called)? I'm surprised. I would have thought that someone around here believed passionately in the taming of fire.

Laudate_Dominum
The culmination of several thousand years of philosophical reflection on the problem of bread is this: Bread just is. Touche!
