Flashforward

In Canada, it shows on CTV, which is a channel that we can't get on our rabbit ears, but I can watch them online. The only reason I gave it a try is that I saw it was from Brannon Braga, and I like anything with a time travel or alternative history twist. So far, I'm really liking it.

Thy Geekdom Come

It's a very interesting show. :) Reminds me a bit of last year's Life on Mars.

Makes me wonder what my flashforward would be...

The show just started in the uk, i am enjoying it so far. I hope i continue watching it because sometimes i tend to loose interest very quickly with some of these shows on tv.

good show. reminds me a bit of lost, so hopefully it doesn't loose itself.

Yeah, it was its connections to LOST that turned me off after the first episode. I mean, it was as if they were trying to be LOST without investing in the immense creativity and depth of story telling. The similarities present themselves in the opening 15 minutes an an incredibly laughable manner:

1) The pilot episode begins with a close-up of the lead male opening his eyes after surviving a disaster
2) Said lead male wanders "ground zero" of the disaster, surveying the carnage and helping rescue people
3) As he is walking around, he observes a strange animal that doesn't belong in the current setting

Heck, there's an even more obvious nod to LOST-lore later in the episode during a "flash-back" to before the "flash-forward" where two policemen are staking out taking photos of a woman. And, in front of them is a building with a billboard above it advertising for Oceanic Airlines, the fictitious airline that the LOST folks crashed on. And, if you look closely, you see that the tagline states "Perfect Safety Record."

This is, of course, not to mention the several former-LOST castmembers who have or will be making appearances on the show. It just seems like they are trying to catch lightning in a bottle, capitalizing on the ending of a great show by drawing intrigue for an inferior one. I watched the first episode, shrugged, and haven't thought about it since.

The last couple of episodes have shown people using what they learned during their flash forwards to their own benefit. Trying to change their future, or trying to make what they saw come to fruition. That process is interesting. I need to watch the beginning again.

I'm sure that they'll eventually show that you cannot change the future by changing the past (i.e.- the Grandfather Paradox), just like LOST...

LAME!

That has yet to be established in the LOST universe...

TempleofVesarius

They seriously lost(pun intended) me with the horridly acted lesbian scene this past week. I find the acting on the show to be sub-par in general. It reminds me more of season 2 of Jericho than of Lost. The characters all seem completely one dimensional, and some of the actors cant even get that right. I am just going to wait and see how the remake of V is before I pick a replacement show for Lost.
