Church Scholars

I am getting the overwhelming sense that many do not think the Church Scholars are working hard enough, or answering questions in a timely manner. However, please understand that the questions asked there require time and research. I don't know about the rest, but my time is quite limited, given that it is Holy Week. In fact, it is almost 11:00 P.M., I walked in the door about 20 minutes ago from a Chrism Mass that was 2 hours. I also have to finish some reading for class tomorrow amongst other things.

I cannot speak for the rest, but I would imagine they are in a similar situation. The majority of them are either priests, deacons, or seminarians.

Please understand, I try to do my best answering the questions, as I am sure others do as well, but some questions are not something that can be easily answered or articulated without research, if even minute. In fact, I am working on the question dealing with mortal sin, but I just have not had time to finish it yet.

Being a Church Scholar is not all it is cracked up to be, and it takes time and energy to work on it because the majority of the questions asked require more than just a simple yes or no answer.

I am not trying to sound mean, and I mean no offense by this post, but I get the sense that some feel that the Church Scholars have failed to address their concerns when that is definitely not the case.

I would ask for your patience with us, and that you realize that, as hard as it is to believe, I know, life does exist apart from phatmass ;) Besides, wouldn't you want a well-thought out and researched answer instead of a one or two line blurb off the top of our heads?

Just something to keep in mind.

God Bless

Theo,

we know you do your job as best you can. We know you're busy dude. After all, you're training to be a priest. That is FAR more important that any discussion on here. I think a lot of it is that some of us see questions in Q & A that we know the answer to and wish we could, but we can't there so we post 'em here.

Oh dear... We are extremely grateful for your answers Theo... I think that something that was posted earlier regarding the Q/A board was said somewhat in jest. Not getting an answer on that board, the question was posted here.

I think I can say that all of us are truly thankful for all of the Church Scholars who take the time to answer our questions. It is nice to have a reliable answer and not just something from off the cuff like we get when we post here... :P

not for nothing...but the fact that there are AT LEAST 8 catholics per protestant that post here, don't help us very much.

in asking for sympathy, with as kind a heart as I can have, you'll get none from me.

I'm glad that you want to participate, but there are more than enough people here wanting and willing enough to poke, prod, and belittle the christian faith.

love.

Did I miss something? I was asking for patience for the Scholars as they have busy schedules. I really was not looking for accolades, but just an understanding.

BTW, I was asked by dUst to be a Church Scholar, I never sought it out.

God Bless

oh...ok..sorry theo, didn't know you actually meant to look at your title.

---------
and what I meant by "sympathy, you'll get none" is that the protestants on the board have a DANDY OLD TIME trying to keep up with the barrage of catholic documents, proclamations, quotations and posts...so I'm not about to say "sorry" if Theo don't have the time to post.

thats all I meant...sheesh.

and it IS all in love man.

check the context dood. :P

I'm very thankful that we are able to ask questions in the Q&A section and have them answered by church scholars. I asked a question a few weeks ago and received a very satisfactory answer.

Thank you very much and God bless.

I don't know if is me, but I am having a difficult time understanding your posts. Therefore, I cannot tell if you are being sarcastic or honest. Either way it really does not matter because, despite what you may believe, I was not looking for praise or any acknowledgement at all, rather, I was just trying to inform those that eagerly await answers from the Q&A board, that it takes some time to answer the questions, especially those that are more than a simple yes or no question.

Regardless, I think this thread has exhausted itself and I am just going to now let it take off into the abyss. So, I bit it farewell :wavey:

God Bless

Thy Geekdom Come

Sorry, Theo. Wish the rest of us could help, I'd have an army of good, orthodox, Catholic seminarians here at a moment's notice.
