Livin_the_MASS
I don't understand a few things #1 Protestants believe in Bible alone. Yet they take what they want out of it for there own interpertation of the whole Bible. For instance a couple examples, John Chapter 6, Jesus says " Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you do not have life within you." "For My flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink." Even later in Johns Gospel Christ says " I am the way the truth and the life." So if He is the way the truth and the life why don't protestants do what He commands "Eat my flesh and drink my blood"? Why do they question the True Presence of Our Lord in the Most Blessed Sacrament, tell me then how you can claim to follow the Bible and ignore commands given by God, they ignore Sacred Scripture! #2 Plus with Tradition did not St Paul write about this in 1 Cor:11:2 " I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the tradition, just as I handed them on to you." Or again in 2 Thess 3:15 "Therefore brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours." #3 Did Jesus not tell Peter "You are rock and upon this rock I will build My Church." (Don't play the Rock name game either, been their done that!) It's His Church period, we have 2000 years of proof. He founded One Church period. His Church The Catholic Church. I challenge all the non-Catholics to tell me why they ignore basic Scripture Truths and yet claim to follow the Bible? Something doesn't add up. I have a ton more but we will start with these! He carries me
Thanks Jason!!! I've always wondered about the question of the Real Presence, too. A lot of the Protestants I have talked to are so literal about everything else in the Bible (Creationism, for one) but yet when I ask why they don't believe Jesus is really present, they simply say that it is only symbolic because Jesus says, "Do this in remembrance of me." Can't wait to hear the responses to this one. I might have a few more questions to add, too -- if you don't mind.

Livin_the_MASS
Oh ya, Another question I would love to ask and have answered is, How come is it I have never herd a Catholic Priest put down another denomination but all the other ones attack and completley put down the Catholic Church. I've seen it today, people making comments about people leaving early for Mass, not paying attention at Mass. What I call judging others! You know I guess thats why Our Dear Lord said "If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love it's own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you." (Jn 15:18-19) If the world loves you than your not doing something right! "When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning." (Jn 18: 26-27) The Catholic Church is traced back to this beginning! Only thing I have ever seen posted are attacks on the Catholic Church (pointing fingers if you will). Doesn't make sense to me? Jesus said in Scripture, "How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter from your eye,' while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye." (Matt 7:4-5) Another point of "Bible alone" yet it is not truly practiced? hum  God Bless Jason
homeschoolmom
Jason, I will resond to you because I think you refer to something I posted earlier. I did, in fact, make a comment about people leaving mass right after taking the Eucharist. It is NOT uncommon. It is really disrespectful. I have to sit there and watch people leave without them even contemplating what they have just received. I am not allowed to partake yet and I find it very frustrating to have to see others not seem to appreciate what they have... they take it for granted. I cannot see where they have to get to that they are in such a hurry to leave that they can't wait another ten minutes. And it's mostly young people. I don't mean to paint all teens with the same brush... I know there are great teens and young adults here... I am not judging their character, their faith or anything... I am judging their manners... And this is not to say that Protestants don't bug out early... of course they do (and some are rude, too-- I won't mention the teens who ATE A BOX OF DONUTS IN CHURCH ONE SUNDAY!!! ) It saddens me when Catholics don't want to linger in Christ's presence and fellowship with God's people... NOT THAT ALL CATHOLICS ARE THIS WAY... It just seems that way from my humble observation. (Remember, I want to be Catholic-- I'm not anti-Catholic.) As for your first comment about Protestants putting down Catholics but not the other way around, this is just not true. I was in RCIA at a different parish than the one that I am currently attending and the priest was very anti-Protestant... there was no charity there at all. He refered to a Baptist pastor saying something about Protestant doctrine (incorrect, btw) and when he was questioned who that was, he said that he made him up!! It happens... we are all human. I'm speaking of those who are not of Our Faith using it as a wepon instead of using it to help others! Yes we are all human, I'll be the first to tell you I make mistakes all the time and praise God for His Divine Mercy!! It saddens me as well for the lack of respect for Our Lords True Presence in the Holy Eucharist! This was not directed towards you in anyway hsm. I'm not trying to be stupid about these issues either. I think though that certain people have been posting and pointing the finger at the way us Catholics do things wrong. Like you said there are all kinds of people who do things wrong in other churches! Thank You for standing up for the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The priest statement that I made was meant to be taken during Holy Mass, I have never herd a priest ever make a comment about another religion during Holy Mass!
