Strange, seeing as it's usually the woman who carrys the condom and tells the man to wear it, not the other way around.

What is your basis for this claim?

Condoms objectify women. She is good enough to have sex with, but not good enough to have the man's child.

And NFP is distinct from that how?
Common sense.

So what you're basically saying is that women aren't good enough to choose wheter they have children or not?

Oh please, it's only "common sense" because it sounds good to you.

I'm thinking with the mind of a Catholic. And I think you know better than to assume what you just did. Catholics believe that sex is so beautiful and so sacred that it is to be shared only with one's spouse; sex is a mutual self-giving between the spouses. Using birth control hinders that self-giving because the spouses are not giving everything (i.e. the ability to produce a child from the love-making).
Fair enough, I was just pointing out that saying condoms objectify women is, quite frankly, wrong. If you asked women, I'm sure the majority would say that they'd rather their sexual partner wore one.

Okay, then I will modify my previous statement and say that condoms (or birth control itself) objectifies both the woman and the man. It reduces sex to an activity of pleasure. Both the woman and the man are "protecting" themselves from having a child, because neither party (a) wants that responsibility or (b) wants to have a child with that particular person. Therefore the woman - or the man - is reduced to an object of pleasure for self-gratification.

Have you actually asked any women this, or are you just making up stuff again?

So you would say that it is perfectly acceptable to have sex with a person to just "feel good"? And, how would you feel if this was the only reason a young woman would sleep with you? Would you feel loved, cared for, and accepted? Or would you feel dehumanized and degraded?

Does that make it somehow alright? I swear, the level of self-respect these days is so low, it's horrifying. Not to mention that people don't respect others... :sadder:
Even when using Natural Family Planning, the couple experiences the fullness of the marital act (mutual self-giving) because there is nothing physical preventing the couple from fully experiencing each other. When the couple abstains from love-making during the fertile periods of the woman's cycle, they are expressing great love for each other because they are not only practicing chastity within marriage, but they are seeing the marital act as more than just "a good time." They see it as so sacred that they would rather abstain - and later give themselves to each other completely - than use "protection," therefore experiencing just a portion of what sex really is.
