XIX
I have seen flyers for all-night, First Friday/First Saturday prayer vigils. (Friday night thru Saturday morning.) Devotion to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart. I've seen them for two different parishes, actually. I've seen them both advertise that, by going to one of those all-night vigils, one would save 1,000 souls. I don't know, it sounds awfully superstitious. StColette
I'm not aware of that. I am familiar with the prayer of St. Gertrude the Great. She was a mystic and was granted visions of Our Lord on several occasions. On one occasion He gave her the following prayer: "Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen." He promised her that each time this prayer was prayed that 1,000 souls would be released from Purgatory.
