dUSt
So, these "Would Jesus Discriminate?" billboards are all over the place in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. Here's all their proof that being gay is okay: http://www.wouldjesusdiscriminate.org/biblical_evidence/ Discuss.
Selah
erm...Well, I read those verses, and it seems Jesus healed a paralyzed man. What does being gay have to do with it?
Nihil Obstat
I can't translate original biblical passages. Anyone want to take aim at it?

Resurrexi
I'm having trouble finding anything about a gay couple in Matthew 8.
Laudate_Dominum
The few explicit mentions of ghey acts in the Bible are pretty bleak so I find it amusing when people try to put a ghey spin on things.
Nihil Obstat
To be fair, at least read their website first. They're talking about specific word usage, not just the passage itself.
Mark of the Cross
I remember Lott sleeping with his daughters after being a good boy. But that whole story about homosexuals was confusing (to me) because it involved rape and multiple partners. So it really cannot be used as argument against homosexuality as people are so fond of doing. Ie were the people of Sodom and Gomorrah bad because of the practise of homosexuality or because of their use of multiple partners or because they wanted to rape lott's visitors or all of the above? But I'm pretty familiar with ghey exegesis and could direct towards the heavy stuff if you're so interested. My comment was uber general and thus not unfair btw. eagle_eye222001
The question "would Jesus discriminate?" is an unfair and ambiguous question. Basically, the way they phrase it, it sounds like they are trying to ask a rhetorical question as if "would Jesus sin." Now Jesus did discriminate because he tended to speak to the scribes and Pharisees in a harsh manner and other sinners he spoke warmly. So in that sense, Jesus did discriminate, however you can discriminate and not sin. Now their argument concerning Matthew 8:5-13, I have heard that supposedly a translation of the word servant can mean "gay partner" or something like that. However there is an argument against that if that was the intended meaning, then it would have been made clearer or something like that. I forget the exact argument. Looking at their other arguments...not only does it assume sola scriptura, but it also assumes that moral teachings can change throughout history and they are letting in relativism and we all know where moral relativism leads. They also have to undo 2000 years of history and explain why Christ let his Church teach otherwise for 2000 years. Really does not give credibility to God's Church at all. All their arguments rest on tweaking words, and interpretations, and finding maybe possible but unlikely translations. None of the links seem to work either. So in conclusion, I see it as a hopeless cause that is trying to desperately undo Christ's work.
