Theologian in Training
No debating please. Whether we believe it or not, I put it here because more people would see it. This past weekend I had preached on sin and Hell, as a result a parishoner directed me to this link. It is quite powerful and even drew some bishops to confession. Enjoy! http://www.holysouls.com/hellexists.htm
perfectunion33
Thank you very much, it's nice to see some people remaining faithful to the Truth. Conviction leads to repentence.

N/A Gone
It is a beautiful piece, but I wish they would have done it without so much of the proof text coming from private apparitions. I do not put personal trust or faith in those events and I think his conclusion would be more powerful if he quoted biblically or patristically instead. More focus on faith, and change of heart and not on scapulars. Is purgatory ending at the end of the world a Catholic dogma? Are all souls condemned to purgatory until the end of the world? Sometimes I worry about these messages because they are more likely to bring despair then encouragement. Hell is a reality, but this makes it seem as if nobody can make it to heaven.
It is meant to be read, as with anything, with a discerning eye. The reason he focused on private apparitions was because he was in Fatima speaking at a Fatima Peace Conference. The Scapular, the children, the apparitions are all used as examples to demonstrate his point.

Despite the complaints priests in general may get, we, the congregation need more fire and brimstone homilies as we have fallen asleep at the switch. Unfortunately the only particular homily that comes to mind is that one that people misinterpreted as the Pope saying that hell is only a state of mind or something. lol. Just because I (and several others mind you), recongnize in JP the Great a certain greatness that deserves to be underlined and in my opinion affixed the title of 'magnus', doesn't mean I make an idol of JP the Great. And just becasue of your comment: JP the Great John-Paul the Great! John-Paul the Great! John-Paul the Great! John-Paul the Great! John-Paul the Great!
