I was just opening my mail from yesterday, and I got a solicitation letter to contribute to Marcus Grodi's JOURNEY HOME outfit, they apparently want me to send them contributions to help out errant Protestants "Come Home" Like I would want to support that show, yeah right.

Now the ONLY way they could have gotten my name and address was by registering with EWTN, I wanted some information a little while ago about some show.

Selling names to solicitation outfits is not Kosher, and this is just a warning that your name will be hucked to every outfit that apparently wants to send EWTN a fee to rent the list of people that contact them.

Wrong.

Most sites that have something where you give your e-mail have terms of service and/or a privacy statement. Which means that if you give them your e-mail and thier privacy statement says that they can contact you at a future time, then why are you surprised (I've yet to find anything on EWTN where you register for anything except their newletter(s) and it looks like their shows are all pretty much online, so I have no idea what you're talking about). Also, its not like they really had to sell your e-mail. You gave it to EWTN, and you got an e-mail from an EWTN show. Again, check the terms of service, odds are that you agreed to them sending you e-mails. Not to mention, I've had evangelical sites do the same thing to me, so don't try playing poor abused protestant.
