I personaly think the Mayans just got tired of writing so many calenders and just stopped and said "I doubt the world is gana live this long so lets just stop here"

Or didn't care because they realized they'd be out of the picture long before then. ;)

I am an apocalypse junkie. You should see my collection of disaster movies, sorted from fire on one side to ice on the other with storms and floods in the middle. My shrink said that isn't unusual for someone with PTSD.

I dont believe that the END of the world is going to happen anytime soon. But I do beleive that we may experience some major chastisements very soon. 2012 sound about right. Now let us remember Jesus said that we know not the day of his second coming, he never said we wouldnt know the days of certain chastisements like a comet, WWIII, natural disasters, communism and so on.

Our Lady of Fatima gave a stern warning to all of mankind that if we do not repent and follow the good news of Jesus we will experience huge punishments.
and with the cultural demonic possesion influencing abortion, fornication, homosexuality, porn, child abuse, euthanasia........and the fact that the world
is falling into all this SIN, I think we should always be praying that we have more time and use this time to repent and convert to JESUS.

Are "Left Behind" and "Armageddon" in your collection?

Seriously, I remember the craze of the "Left Behind" books. It seemed to fizzle out just as quickly as it came. Now, you can go into any thrift store or antique store and see about a dozen copies in each.

I did alot of research in 2012 and it isn't only the mayan calender it links too. On the december 21 2012 it ends a 'great cycle' in the calender. The same day a winter solstice will happen on at 11:11 and close to that year a galactic alignment will happen, when the earth aligns with the center of our galaxy.

Personally I don't think anything will happen on that date. However I believe a very big chastisement will happen soon (maybe next 10-20 years) and this will link with Medjugorje.

No left behinds. Day After, Day After Tomorrow, Waterworld, Post Impact, Absolute Zero, The Core, Category 6, Category 7, 10.5, 10.5 Apocalypse, The Day the Earth Caught Fire, Waterborne, Deep Impact, Dante's Peak, Volcano, Meltdown the Earth's on Fire, Great LA Earthquake, Supernova, Towering Inferno, Armageddon, Airport (all of them), and a few more I can't read from here. The best one by far is The Day the Earth Caught Fire. I also have a special spot for The Day After Tomorrow having married an Antarctic researcher.

The Bus Station

I think something funky is supposed to happen with the weather on that day... but I don't believe it will include the second coming.
