N/A Gone
Dear friends... This is a personal roadblock of mine. God is supposed to be this perfect being without sin, yet he himself has admitted to being a 'jealous god' and is documented in the bible for committing genocide and murder in the Old Testament. Doesn't that contradict everything? People are supposed to devote their wholes lives to this strive for 'perfection', an attempt to become sinless and be more like god, yet god itself is guilty of being a sinful creature. And where are all these modern-day miracles? Why did they only happen during the times of the bible or beforehand? If he cared about people so much, why is he letting all the stuff that is going on in Africa and other places happen? You'd think he'd perform some sort of miracle. /rant. Thank you. Theoketos
1. Concerning terms of God by which speak of Him, even when used in Scripture, they are only analogues and not univocal nor equivocal. And clearly the meaning of this adjective is that one may only worship one God. If you try to worship another you cannot worship the one true God who is Love. Love is an all or nothing game. 2. Those acts which to our modern eyes seem unjust can usually better understood and appreciated as just if you can get at which God is really seeking and asking. This is more possible in the original languages. Otherwise consult the ancient Fathers of the Church. (As an aside; If there was one, who was the last of his race, was in your house to destroy your family would that genocide be immoral? 3. In my diocese through the intercession of Father Kapaun, servant of God, Travis Heying was miraculously cured of a caved in head. http://www.kansas.com/959/story/873366.html Perhaps you need to look in other places, places of God, for the cure for evil.
