zunshynn
I don't know that Judaism would have defined society had Christ not come when he did. They were an oppressed people... with not a lot of influence on society in and of itself. Unless something had dramatically changed, I suspect that society would be more molded by paganism and Roman nationalism. And the timing was perfect for Jesus to come when he did. The time for the Messiah has passed... which is why most Jews today are not particularly messianic, but cultural. If he hadn't come then, he wouldn't be coming now, so it's kind of a moot point, if you ask me.
Nihil Obstat
Remember what happened in AD 70?
Can't say I do. My memory gets a bit hazy when I try to remember past about AD 150.
Nihil Obstat
Good old Wikipedia. Now I know what happened. Well maybe that would have happened anyway. Maybe not. I like my alternate history idea with new prophets.
