mcts
In one of my classes I have to do a project over 3 people who i thing are/were great leaders. One of them I have chosen is John Paul II. Who are some others? I seem to have drawn a blank.

CatherineM
A true leader is one who does the unpopular because it is the best thing for the situation, and somehow gets us to all agree that it needs to be done. Eisenhower, Churchill, Patton come to mind.

I'd also recommend Constantine, a nastily efficient and Brutal leader in maintaining his power and keeping rivals and dissenters down but he did change the world. eagle_eye222001
Abraham Lincoln. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain. Not very well known but he's the reason the North won the battle of Gettysburg, and thus stopped Lee from continuing his invasion, that convinced Europe not to help the South, and thus helped lead to the eventual defeat of the South. He was an incredibly important ruler, and he was largely responsible for the cultural renaissance that took place during his reign. Also, his reign was very important in the development of the Roman Liturgy, and it was especially significant for the development of Gregorian Chant. The stability his rule provided was responsible for the cultural renaissance. and I firmly believe that Gregorian Chant would've evolved no matter if Charlemagne had ever ruled or not.
