Iawtc. I think that the devil probably uses whatever weakness a person has, in some people that might be mental illness.

Soo, say when I was a kid I used Ouija boards, and had some pretty terrifying experiences..as did my friends. Is it possible for me to do something to make sure those demons aren't hanging around me still?

Frequent prayer and reception of the sacraments.
If you actually were possessed, which is unlikely if you've had no reason to think so until now, it will certainly be obvious then... and by obvious I mean your life would become absolutely terrible in a variety of ways until the conclusion of a series of exorcisms.
Almost certainly you would have noticed it though, if you actually were possessed or oppressed from events that happened in your childhood.

Sorry. :P I was making assumptions.
Ever heard of Fr. Gabriele Amorth? He wrote two books about his job as the chief Vatican exorcist. Every couple pages he'd reiterate on just how important prayer and reception of the sacraments are, especially confession. Just as powerful, if not more-so than a formal exorcism. In fact I believe that there have been a couple saints who were possessed but drove the demons out of themselves through prayer and fasting and confession.
