Guys Wearing Shirts Swimming

Is it silly for a guy to wear a shirt when going swimming in a public place for purposes of modesty? I told my priest that I was waiting for my swim shirt to come in that I ordered to wear while swimming and he laughed at me

Oh that part is easy... I'm the youth director at my church and I work in the rectory. I also live in the building right next to the rectory (I can see Fr.'s office and I think even bedroom from my kitchen window).

He's a good friend and we use the same P.O box... I was talking to him about the different packages I was getting in the mail since he picks up the mail.

I don't expect guys to wear a shirt while swimming, but I think it's something I might appreciate. Of course, I haven't been to a beach in 3 years... so... yeah. I don't know.

But why WERE you talking to a priest about waiting for a swim shirt? :lol_pound:

Thanks! I was starting to feel puritanical or something for not wanting to show the whole world my *cough* rippling chest *cough*

Whether they are fat ripples or muscle ripples, only my wife will know

I've talked to a priest about swimming before. He actually told me not to swim with persons of the opposite sex.

That's impossible in many places...

I live in Alaska so you either swim in the public swimming pools or not at all.

No. I haven't gone swimming in coming up on five years, but I want to start again because it is good exercise and something I can do for activity in the winter (since the swimming pools are indoor). So I bought a swim shirt as now that I am more educated (and more handsome), I feel convicted to cover my upper body in front of women.
