Kerry, Candidate and Catholic, Creates Uneasiness for Church

New York Times

Senator John Kerry's support for abortion rights and stem cell research has prompted discussions among Roman Catholic bishops and Vatican officials over how to respond to a presidential candidate who professes Catholicism while taking stands contrary to church teaching.
In February, Archbishop Raymond Burke of St. Louis admonished Mr. Kerry not to take communion if he attended Mass there. Archbishop Burke, until recently the bishop of the diocese of LaCrosse, Wis., caused a furor when he issued the same threat to politicians there last year.
God Bless Raymond Burke on his stand!!!

If Kerry is for abortion and stem cell research he is not a true Catholic.

I agree with Raymond Burke, he warned them, they did not respond to his plea, so he said no more Holy Communion, period. Unless they make a public annoucment that they are against abortion! That's the way it should be. Because they have made a public annoucment that they are for it (abortion), so the proper thing to do is make a public annoucment that they have changed there ways!

By the way there are other Bishops taking the same action as Raymond Burke!

Kerry is not a true Catholic if he believes in taking innocent lives.

Kerry will not get my vote! :P

God Bless

Kerry calls himself "catholic" but he doesn't act it. Actions speak louder than words.

But beyond that, the only way Kerry is getting the protestant vote is to be in bed with the liberals and their culture of death. And I'm certain there's a huge number of pro-life protestants that would never consider voting for the man regardless of his so-called catholicity.

Yeah, if I were American I wouldn't vote for him on his pro-choice agenda and he seems to love big government a bit too much.

And it's true, not all protestants have a culture of death ;)
