[/quote] Yes, many people do have a simplistic understanding of Galileo. Nor is it fair to judge the Church for acting in its times to the best of its abilities but within the limits of the times. Nevertheless it is a fantastic demonstration of why the Church has no business now sticking it's nose into scientific or academic matters such that it has any powers of censorship in the matters.
