Slappo
I had a glass of wine last night over the phone with my fiance. I read from a book to her too I bought a chablis because it was cheaper then the reds, except the burgundy, which I haven't had before and was afraid to buy... because I bought a 5 liter box of wine and that's a lot of wine to just try a new kind. I like merlot... and I love cabernet sauvignon

PRESTO CHANGO you now have Sangria!!!
Marie-Therese
There's not too much in the wine world that I'm NOT a fan of, to be honest. Depends on what I'm eating. Or not eating, as the case may be.

Oh, what's the mix of coke and red/white wine again (perfect for those cheap, dry wines that you can pick up)? Also, what's with the preference not to chill red wines? Marie-Therese
1. Rach is, indeed, wise. 2. Cheap wine and soda mix is a spritzer. Usually with sprite or seven up. Not familiar with mixing wine and coke. 3. Red wines go better at room temp because it allows the flavors to develop. The tannins and nitrates in reds open up more fully when they are warmer. You miss a lot of the flavor if you drink them cold.

MIKolbe
there is only one wine that I know of that is a red and is better served chilled...Lambrusco by Riuniti. It is theonly red Shea will drink. They serve it at Olive Garden. It is...well... ok.
