My original point was that I can dedicate my entire home to Our Lord, putting money into an extra chapel within my home is not necessary. A small, humble prayer area is just as good as a gold adorned chapel. The glitz is unnecessary.
I never said that a personal chapel is absolutely necessary (though it certainly wouldn't be unnecessary if it helped someone to grow in holiness.) :)

It would just be a very nice thing to have if I had enough money in the future.

You asked why no one else wanted to build a chapel. I answered. Lots of things can help one grow in holiness, it doesn't make them necessary, it makes them helpful.

The opposite of "necessary" is "unnecessary." Ergo, if something is not absolutely necessary it is unnecessary.

I would say that there is certainly a distinction between "not absolutely necessary" and "unnecessary".

It is much like the distinction that theologians make between non dignus and indignus.
Adam and Eve were only negatively unworthy (non digni, not worthy) of the reception of grace before the fall. Since the fall, men have been positively unworthy (indigni, unworthy).

I wouldn't. There is necessary and unnecessary. Necessary = need. Unnecessary can be helpful or useful or just plain cool to have, but it's not something you need.

The Rosary, for example, is extremely helpful in one's spiritual life. But, it's not necessary for salvation.

You ignored what I said about there being a distinction made by theologians between non dignus (not worthy) and indignus (unworthy)...

I honestly don't feel like arguing with you about this though.

Pax!

I didn't ignore it. I found it irrelevant. We're not talking about Latin phrases.
