Papal authority is the easy one for me as well. If you have ever worked for an place that was run by a committee, you would see the absolute necessity for a final authority. :). To me its just logical, that God would somebody to mind the store.
i find it funny that u accept co-redemptorix and aren;t sure about the immaculate conception....all marian dogma's come from her holiness..but who I am to complain....know of my prayers as well!!!

fr. Matt,

I'm one of those really thorough boring people. Those that have to look at something from every possible angle and consider every position before making a judgement. I'm the kindof guy who will sit down and read the documents of the Second Vatican Council (yes, I am), read the Catechism (I didn't think it was that boring), and even the code of canon law (next on my list). I must explore and understand each doctrine before I can say "oh, yes, that one is true". I can't based on one doctrine, just accept another as being true. If I did that, I couldn't justify ever changing my beliefs.

Hope this helps some.

Yeah Papal Authority is so very Biblical. The office of the Pope is the same as the office of Eliakim in Isiaiah 22:22. Even Eliakim was called "Father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem" Read it in Latin and it would say "Papa (Pope) to the inhabitants of Jerusalem"

On that day I will summon my servant Eliakim, son of Hilkiah;
21 I will clothe him with your robe, and gird him with your sash, and give over to him your authority. He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. 22 6 I will place the key of the House of David on his shoulder; when he opens, no one shall shut, when he shuts, no one shall open.
23 I will fix him like a peg in a sure spot, to be a place of honor for his family;
24 7 On him shall hang all the glory of his family: descendants and offspring, all the little dishes, from bowls to jugs.

Bro Adam you are awesome. You and your wife are in my prayers.

MC Just,

I'm hoping to get my hands on Upon this Rock and Jesus, Peter, and the Keys this summer. So if all is true hopefully I can bump that out of the disagree catagory ;)
