Lil Red
+J.M.J.+ i was reading this from Big Hollywood, where he talks about the fact that Quentin Tarantino is trying to pass off Brad Pitt as a tough guy and that he doesn't match up to Lee Marvin. i agree that it seems like the tough guys coming out of Hollywood nowadays are panty-waists. when i think of tough guy hero, i think Clint Eastwood, Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, John Wayne, Anthony Quinn, Charlton Heston, Steve McQueen, etc. what do you think? are there any tough guys left in Hollywood that aren't effeminate shadows of the old Hollywood tough guys? CatherineM
I remember when Brad Pitt was making Seven, he broke his hand doing a stunt, and they just wrote it into the script. Most of the tough guys making movies today aren't really actors, they are converted wrestlers and the like. Actors get paid too much money to be risked in the same way. Studios don't tolerate the same level of drinking either because they get picked up for DUI and it's an embarrassment, plus it increases the amount of money that insurance companies charge to insure a film. I guess Bruce Willis is about the youngest tough guy type.
Kaeldra
don't forget bogart, not quite in the same realm, but I wouldn't mess with him!! And yeah, I'm having a hard time thinking of an actual tough guy nowadays.... Harrison Ford used to be pretty cool?

T-Bone _
I'm with Catherine. Bruce Willis is the last of the tough guys. Maybe Wesley Snipes--but he hasn't made a movie in forever...
