Personal stories can be alright but too much and they kill the discussion and reduce the conversation to being subjective instead of objective.

I have to admit, I do find personal stories of the paranormal incredibly interesting. :)
There's a time and a place for everything. Which is why there's a "personal experience" thread.

It seems as though what is happening is what I thought might happen, as a result of such silence, we are starting to lose members. Maybe this wasn't the best idea for a board and maybe I should just close it? Or, at least hang on to it until Halloween, since I am sure that might draw a few more in?

Fr. Brian, I think we should let it ride...perhaps a few of us can get a good discussion going. I did notice the same few people monopolizing the conversation and didn't want to quite travel that route, you know what I mean?

Maybe a teaser from you about a need for some more discussion to keep the board going might do the trick.

I will go and see if I can get some discussion rolling somewhere. :)

I agree. Hold out, and let it ride. It easy to get impatient with things on that series of tubes we call "the internets" because we're used to clicking a button and getting instant results.

You've actually facebooked every active PMer you could find haven't you? <img src="http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/lol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="lol.gif" />

How do you keep track of who is who? I have a separate group for PMers, but I still keep mixing everyone up... and I think I only have like 20...

You all have pretty nice flair though, I must say.

I organized people into a PM group......still lost. Might have to figure out a tagging system.

I do like personal stories related to paranormal....didn't mean to say otherwise although I guess I did. <_<

So, this morning, I got my first "I think I'm possessed call," read all about it in the group. Also, I wonder if I close the group if that would generate more interest and freedom to talk. BTW, when I mean "close" here I mean, by invite, not deleting it.

Going to read now. :)

I think making it by invite might be a good call. Lots of people these days see "paranormal" and want to tell about how creepy their house is at night.

Yeah, especially as we get closer to October, when I am sure all the lurkers will start to manifest themselves. And lurker will become troll who will become banned :)

Oh, and you're Peyton, my Mafia Wars and Farmtown friend. Got it!

Alright, it seemed to work, we are getting a little more discussion and we have a new topic that I know absolutely nothing about, aliens. So, for those part of the group and who have some knowledge of it, go to it!

I think this was a good idea. More people are coming out of the woodwork and starting to post and share their experiences and thoughts on everything. I guess I should have made it private from the beginning. BTW, I have a question, last count was 62, but somehow we have a new member whom I did not get a request from. Was that because they were already invited and responded to the invite? I honestly don't know who it was, but that is the only thing I can think of.

Making the group private has definitely had its benefits, now people are coming out in the open and talking. I just wish I could speak to the one topic that is being ignored on aliens, because I have no knowledge of anything about it.

Anyway, the boards are starting to have life and people are starting to appreciate the group.

thanks!

Actually, it appears she deleted it
