BLAZEr
You know, I wish there was more to it than this. And mea culpa's are certainly needed here by me. But I think the real problem is that I just don't like you. I know, I shouldn't let that come into play, but I have yet to read a post where you weren't attacking, discrediting, or complaining about some "Novus Ordo" issue, priest, bishop, etc . . . I mean, maybe it's just cuz I hate how you seem to talk about the Pope, who is my hero, and Holy Priests who don't buy into your agenda for the Church's self understanding. It just gets on my nerves. I apologize for being such a jerk, but everytime I see a post of yours I want to smack you upside the head. Pray that I'm able to get past this. morostheos
so....to bring this thread back to the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal.... I think they are a wonderful order! I went to a Eucharistic retreat run by them and the sisters of the renewal, and both seemed like holy, orthodox, and Eucharistic centered groups. They gave all of the talks and brought many teens closer to Christ - not in a warm and fuzzy way - but in a sacramental way. I personally think they amazing! popestpiusx
Blazer I think that is one of the best posts I have read yet. Brutal honesty. I can deal with that. Perhaps that is why I seem to be so acerbic. I like brutal honesty and don't give a rat's arse for dancing around issues. I really do not intend to be so acerbic. I'm not usually that way in person. Oh well. We are what we are. I tend to be one to argue based on empirical evidence and clear cut (so they seem to me) proofs of things. I get very annoyed when people give what I consider to be copout answers and refuse to address the issues brought up. That is why I said that about the Church being invented in 1962. It seems to me that those who argue on your side completely ignore what was taught before the council and refuse to address any argument that argues from that same standpoint. I only attack what seems to be dangerous to the Church. I understand that you do the same. We have different opinions on what is and is not dangerous to the Church. Therein lies our problem. You may think of me what you like. God Bless!! In Christo et Maria, PSPX
M.SIGGA
[quote name='popestpiusx' date='Apr 1 2004, 01:20 PM'] Blazer I think that is one of the best posts I have read yet. Brutal honesty. There are lots of little schismatic groups around that would love every little thing you have ever said on Pm. If one whole-heartedly believes the Pope is a nut and the Roman Catholic priesthood is a hoot, why lie to oneself and not just leave? I love the Pope and the priesthood and V2 so naturally I would identify as a Roman Catholic. This isn't 1950 or 1850 and the Church is ALIVE in Christ TODAY in 2004 preaching to the masses and evangelizing sinners. If you want to go to the indult Latin Mass, fine then just go, but the Council is over and done with - just say a "Glory Be" and get over it. I love C.f.R btw. They rock and their evangelism ministry is amazing!

friarMatt
We know a tree by it's fruit...i have no problem with "rock music/lifeteen masses" it resonates with young people, personally it resonatesdwith me...upbeat praise and worship music was what fostered my vocation...i am not a saint, very far from it, but I want to be one, and a holy friar and priest, PSPX, I find that some of your comments are completly dismissive of anyone who thinks differntly then you and others in a VERY distinct minosrity...i end with the words of St. Augustine ... In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; and in all things, charity (or love)." I don;t find a pipe organ to be an essentuial in Christ and Mary, fr. popestpiusx
Dismissive of others? No. I just want people to defend what they belive using actual catholic argumentation instead of the typical "Well, I feel that its ok because I like it."
