Sr Marianne
Also the Franciscan Sisters Minoress - Derbyshire in the UK Have you ever wondered about becoming a Sister? This is a weekend for women 18-35 discerning whether the Lord may be calling them to Religious Life. It's a taste of life as a Franciscan Sister, so you will participate in our life of prayer as well as getting to know the Sisters. We will have time for prayer, discussion, questions, input on Religious Life and the opportunity for one-to-one with myself, Sr Marianne. Places are limited so let us know if you are coming as soon as you can, or get in touch with any queries. God Bless! contact me via phatmass or FB or xt3 or our website: www.stclaresconvent.fsnet.co.uk

DiscerningSoul
http://www.sistersofthevisitation.org/origins.htm The Visitation Nuns of VA. offers "Discernment Retreats" where you are living, working and enjoying time with the Sisters. It's a great way to 'see' what nuns do all day. My 1st visit I spent two weeks and fell in love with this place, I went back for a 2nd visit and now I will spend the next three months there in the 1st step in their formation called pre-postulate. Come and enjoy a visit!

Digitaldame
We only have one guest room at present so can't offer discernment week-ends as other monasteries do, but we're always happy to welcome people to the monastery or do our best to help by email/letter (just don't expect an immediate answer every time!). We tend to get "booked up" during the summer months so forward planning of a visit is advisable. We are planning a series of "discernment days" (as distinct from week-ends) in 2010. Although they will focus on contemplative Benedictine life, we hope they will be useful to anyone thinking seriously about becoming a nun or sister. We'll post details nearer the time here, on our web site at Holy Trinity Monastery, East Hendred and on The Benedictine Forum.
