My definition of luck is an uncontrollable event that falls in your favor. It happened by coincidence, not because some planets were aligned or I rubbed a lucky stone.

i DEFINATELY don't believe in coincidence anymore.

every "coincidence" i have experienced lately has, in retrospect, been a complete setup by God for something.

it's all a setup. God is so wonderful.

mulls,

I think we'd all agree that most big things that happen in our lives are not luck or coincidence, and that often things that we attribute to one of those two are actually of God. However, it's the small things that I'm asking about. Things like hitting an unbelievable shot when shooting hoops or a good/bad hand of cards or the people at McDonalds forgetting to put ketchup on your burger or misspelling a word. Are these all from God, or are they just good/bad luck.

i was distinguishing between luck and coincidence.

coincidence is out the window for me, but i wonder about the small 'luck' things just like you.

how are luck and coincidence different? If I flip a coin and get heads ten times in a row, I could call it luck or I could call it coincidence, couldn't I?

good luck vs. bad luck.....getting heads ten times in a row isn't necessarily good or bad, is it? unless you're betting on it or something.

coincidence is something that just "happens to happen." but in reality it was just a huge setup by God. like running into a person on the street and sharing something with them, something which has already been on their minds and they were really struggling with or thinking about recently. that's a setup.

i've seen so many setups on campus this semester, it's ridiculous. God is moving bigtime.

this is totally different than a miracle basketball shot going in, or getting heads a million times in a row. for me at least.

mulls,

Those events may very well be of God. However, is me flipping heads ten times in a row coincidence? or is it God?

Also, today I got an e-mail reflection. ItT is a mass e-mail that is sent to hundreds if not thousands of people. Now, the message is something that is very relevant to my life. However, am I to believe that God inspired the person to write that e-mail just for me, or is it more of a coincidence. Is it specifically for me, or is God simply using what is pretty much random circumstance to teach me a lesson?

Coincidence is just a set-up by God? More and more I am beginning to agree with you. Lately, I've been noticing a lot more, and I realize just how big a role God takes on in my life.

There is no such thing as good luck or bad luck. Divine Providence, We have to learn to see the Hand of Our Heavenly Father in every single thing that happens in our life.

God Bless
