Resurrexi
In Low church Anglican buildings, you genuflect to the cross at the front. Henry had a problem with images, and so did the protestants who couldn't wait to bust out. Two planks of wood. Big deal. A cross without Christ is an end without hope.
I care more about what the Second Council of Nicaea says about the veneration of images than what Henry VIII says about them. I named her Charlotte. Charlotte is the Gretsch on the left. The white Strat is my old one. I especially like that name because you can shorten it to Char, which I think is extremely pretty.
We don't shorten any of our kids names. If people try my girls will correct them. I'm not really opposed to nicknames, it's just I haven't found any that suits my girls enough to use it. Genevieve, for example, is NOT a Genna or Jenny. Nihil Obstat
That's pretty cool. I can't imagine not shortening my name, or my brothers'. (Nihil Obstat is a bit of a mouthful. )
