"rev." Wiley Prays For Obama's Death.

Listening to the radio online (KABC 790 AM) and heard this so-called Christian talk about his imprecatory pray for Obama to be killed or die somehow, making his wife a widow and children orphans.

I have never heard of such a pray, but it all these so-called protestants interpret the Word so wrongly, not realizing that the death is not to be physical but to give himself to Christ and his word.

There is nowhere in the Catholic faith that asks us to pray for the death of anyone.

Here is a link to an article on this false prophet.

This person's philosophy seems to run that because something happens......God must have wanted it to happen which doesn't quite hold water.

As much as we dislike some people.....praying for them to die is not correct at all. :ohno:

When we pray death on people.....we are becoming what we oppose. :seesaw:

I think we should pray for Obama's safety and conversion. We also need to pray for these "Christians" because Christ came that we may have life and have it abundantly. He never went to a city and killed those who disagreed with Him. He loves all sinners and we are also called to this type of love, as hard as it may be.

Completely agree, but if non-Catholics are this open to misinterpret the Word, there is no wonder this country is in such a bad way.

Nihil Obstat

Isn't this the whole "committing murder in your heart"? Like isn't that close to word for word what Jesus was talking about? :P

Hardly the first time I've heard of the "toxic prayer" phenomena as a friend once put it. But never gets less saddening to hear about :(

Agreed. Jesus loves everyone, and to actually pray for someone's death...it's sickening.

It is God's will that we pray for one another and for their conversion. This is so sad! I never wish death on anyone regardless on what is on their hearts!!!

Pray, pray, pray for poor sinners! If we do not, who will pray for them?

Do you think Catholics weren't praying for the death of Hitler?

Even if they were, that doesn't make it right. They should have prayed that he turns his life around and is punished, but to pray for someone's death...it's morbid, disgusting, to me.

If I had been in one of the death camps I would have had no problem praying for Hitlers assassination.

Even if it was Hitler we should be praying that God has mercy on his soul not wishing that he was dead! In the end, Hitler has chosen his reward. Only God knows where his soul is. If we were to wish the death upon someone, even if we were Christian/Catholic don't even bother praying the Our Father. "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." That is what being Christian/Catholic is all about. Forgive and you will be forgiven. Love one another as Jesus loves us.
For God loves everyone the same. It is not in His will that we wish the death of someone, but it is His will that we pray for their souls and for God's mercy to shine upon them.
