That part always bugged me. The whole attitude is about "me having this relationship". Nothing about "I love you so much I want YOU to be happy even if that means we cannot be". He wouldn't let us discuss the true meaning, he just said they would sneak around and play cards.... I think I was cheated out of a lesson there.
