hermit
What this sounds like to me is Kerry is a lukewarm fence sitter, and we all know what happens to them... If Kerry does'nt want to be a Catholic President, perhaps he should concider, not being a Catholic....Be either hot or cold Kerry God Bless........hermit
Ash Wednesday
I prefer hot waffles over cold waffles, myself. They're really good with pecans in them, too.
M.SIGGA
I do not want Kerry to win. It would be a huge scandal to the Church if he did. I'm curious as to how the bishops would deal with it.
Seeing how the world is today, then it seems more likely that Kerry would win. If Kerry did win and became a better Catholic, or if American bishops would finally have to crack down on the tenets of our Faith, wouldn't his election over Bush be better after all? (hypothetical question - ignoring all other issues.) Edited March 30, 2004 by M.SIGGA
mamalove
The Constitution allegedly says that the state and religion can have nothing to do with each other.
The Constitution says nothing about separtation of church and state and anyone who tells you otherwise is mistaken. The Constitution says: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" The words "church" or "state" are not in there. The intent of the Framers of the Constitution was to prohibit a single denomination as rule of law in the country. They didn't want another "Church of England," so to say. Trying2BFaithful
I'm marginally uncomfortable with certain issues that Bush supports, namely the death penalty. However, when it comes down to it, you can check the Catholic voter's guide, Bush does not violate any of the "non-negotiable" things that Catholics are told they must adhere to in order to remain faithful. Voting for Kerry on the other hand... I would vote for the following guy if he had a snowballs chance of winning (which he doesn't): www.voteforjoe.com He's awesome. I see eye to eye with him on everything. He just won't win, so I'm torn.

Iacobus
I could never bring myself to Bush. I think he is a scam. That is just my view. If he was not running again I may vote for the repbulican but not with Bush as their nom. I disagree with him on almost EVERY issue and couldn't live with myself after voting for him. ESP with his gung ho war, you know 40% of the troops in Iraq are revserists?, and his death penelty views. So I will find a pro life canadtite I agree with and vote for him, regradless of his chance of winning. One vote for that person is on less vote for the false Catholic and one less for the scam we have now.
