why do we say the church is the "spotless bride of Christ" ? why do we call it "blameless" ? i would like to know how we can say this inlight of such things as the inquisition? im not trying to attack the chuch (as i see a lot of people try to do on this phorum), im just trying to understand some hard to understand points. thanks

I don't see your question as attacking the Church; it's actually a wonderful question.

We call the Church the "spotless Bride of Christ" because her sins have been washed away "by the Blood of the Lamb." She herself is holy through Christ's Blood. Though sometimes her members may not be as holy as they're called to be, we still know that the Holy Spirit's a'drivin' this train. If He's in charge, then His Bride can't be led into something other than Himself. I hope this helps.
