Resurrexi
I recently read something about using one's baptismal name at Confirmation to emphasize the unity of the sacraments of Christian initiation. What do you all think of this?
vaxine19
On the other hand it's hard to have too many patron Saints.
VeniteAdoremus
I was baptised and confirmed within the space of four minutes when I was fifteen, so I didn't really think it over. But afterwards I decided St. Therese could be my confirmation saint.
MIKolbe
yes, I taught that in adult confirmation class as well. It is a sign of unity within the sacraments. In my experience, however, many of the adult comfirmandi were reverts and taking a 'new' name focused research on their saint and others, and was used as a teaching tool to reinforce the 'communion of saints', and to learn what wonders God can work through us, if we only let Him. homeschoolmom
Your poll is flawed. Once again, you only see the world through a tiny little lens.
Maggyie
Hmmm I guess I don't see what's narrow or tiny-minded about the poll? It seems like a Yes or No question to me? I took a fourth name at Confirmation, but I have to say I've been remiss about including St. Veronica Giuliani in my prayers, I always seem to gravitate to St. Anthony who is kind of the patron saint of my family. I did not know that some forgot such things. As I said before, there is always the option of null vote.
