The Magesterium has decided that it's fit to have both. Until the official position is changed, it's a non-issue and a matter of personal preference. Your response was to show us how the EF is better and if we go to the OF and prefer it then we need to try harder at the EF.

This is mainly a matter of discipline. It is only a matter of doctrine in that both forms are equally valid, that both are objectively holy, etc. Edited June 28, 2009 by Resurrexi
Indeed, the Magisterium is only setting guidelines, because it's authority is in teaching apparently, not discipline. Therefore, for not losing sleep over it and following the teachings of the Magesterium that either is fine, we are bad.
I do not think that that it takes away attention from the Mass. Praying the Sorrowful Mysteries actually makes sense during Mass, since the passion and death of our Lord are being re-presented in the Mass. That said, I do think that the best way to participate in the Mass is to pay attention to what is going on at the altar, to say the responses, and to join in chanting the Ordinary chants of the Mass.
And if one is going to pray the Rosary, then those are good mysteries to pray during the course of the Mass. It's been my experience however, in more than one parish, that the average person lacks the attention span or ability to be able to both participate fully and pray an entire other devotion.
