What on earth is the D'Haran Empire and why is your loyalty to it above your loyalty to Acre?![/quote]
Richard Rahl's D'Haran Empire from Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series.

My loyalty to them is more out of safety for everyone. He's got a very strict sense of justice.

I can assure you that the best interests of Acre and the D'Haran Empire will never be in opposition.

If you wish to keep your position as Archduke of Acre, you need to place this Archduchy on the same level as you place the Western Realm.

Nihil Obstat

I can place it on the same level as the D'Haran Empire, but unfortunately in the extreme offchance that there were a conflict of interest between Princess Gianna and the Archduchy of Acre, I would be forced to resign my office as Administrative Archduke.
What I wouldn't do however, is allow any areas under my control or jurisdiction to be worse off because of it.

I guess that will do. Now make this affirmation and you will be given your office and title.

Do you, Nihil Obstat, affirm that you will faithfully execute the office of Archduke of Acre, and will to the best of your ability, preserve, protect and defend the city of Acre against the Saracens?

(Respond "I do.")

I do, for the glory of God and His Church.

I prefer the books, no question. I found the series entertaining as a show, but didn't relate well to the books.
