christaddict
Hey folks ! there's a great way to stop all these Ads. Why not change the entire browser. Get Firefox from mozilla.com which has lots of plug-ins. In which the most useful is Adblock. It blocks entire junk Ads. If only life has these blockers! It does get rid of pop-ups really well, but the ones that are on the sides & top of the screen still load.
qfnol31
Cow of Shame's right. It's because they're flash pop-ups, not images.
christaddict
Well, it DOES block all kinds of Ads. Follow this instructions if you've Mozilla Firefox and Adblock extension. 1: Click on the Ad that you want to block from appearing in the future. 2: Select Adblock Image. TADA! (It won't appear again) So, how does it block different Ads from the same provider. Easy. What you've to do is add *(asterix) to the address. For example if you want to block all the Ads from doubleclick.net, just add *doubleclick.net* when you get the Adblock dialog box. (Alternatively, you can do this by clicking on the 'Adblock' text on the bottom-right corner of the browser window. Let me know if you've more doubts. And, oh yes, it also blocks flash Ads Edited December 19, 2005 by christaddict

Antonius
Gmail is the best advice I can give. It's what has worked for me sooo well since last March. You can have hotmail forward all your emails to your gmail account (which is only text anyway) and send email through gmail using your hotmail account... It's pretty wicked. I don't know if hotmail forwards mail, though.

That's good. Now, when you see a page containing the flash ad. Click on the transparent image flap just above the ad that says 'Adblock' Try it! azaelia
Adblock blocks all the picture ads for me. I basically see no ads at all, anywhere, when I surf. That's why I can withstand MySpace...because all the ads are blocked.
