Eucharist/confession

If you heard the following question posed in a discussion, how would you respond?:

"If the Eucharist forgives venial sins, is it necessary to take these same sins to the sacrament of Reconciliation [after receiving the Eucharist]?"

I heard this and wasn't quite sure how to respond, so I figured I'd ask it here on PhatMass. Might as well sharpen up on apologetics!

It is well to confess also the venial sins we remember:
1. (1) Because it shows our hatred of all sin, and
2. (2) Because it is sometimes difficult to determine just when a sin is venial and when mortal.

In order to become a saint, a person cannot settle for getting rid of mortal sins only-a person has to get rid of all deliberate venial sins.

If a person does not try to get rid of venial sins then they will stay stunted in their spiritual growth.

When one goes to Confession they get graces that they would not have gotten if they did not go to the Confessional. The saints knew this and that is why they went reguarly regardless of what sins they had to confess.
Confession is a Sacrament and as such it gives graces regardless of whether one confesses mortal or venial sins. In other words one should regularly go to Confession just like the saints did.
