hi ladies, I`m new here, my wedding is on may 22, 2010 and it`s under 60 days right now i got dress trouble trough the whole time as ibought a wedding dress i don't like anymore, its to romantic for myvintage theme i wanna go for, so i took my chance and ordered a dressfrom china. i am very happy now with this dress and i`m released from this stress to search for the right dress! For the inner sleeve I used a mesh with shamrocks embroidered on it, and lots of green and gold trim.

A few of unrelated thoughts:

I still enjoy looking at wedding dresses even though the chances of my getting married again get slimmer as the years pass (and I don't get slimmer). When I was a little girl, I used to wear my petticoat (remember petticoats?) over my head and pretend I was a bride.

As for the yellow dress, the woman might have chosen it, not because she felt she was too impure to wear a white wedding dress, but because she was a widow who was marrying again, and on women past a certain age (not sure what age that is) a white wedding dress can look silly, depending on the style. I love yellow, depending on the shade--especially a very light pastel yellow. A golden yellow is totally wrong for my complexion.

The other day, I saw a video (or maybe it was a picture) of a postulant at her clothing ceremony, and it was an order where postulants wear wedding dresses before being clothed in the novice's habit. The veil she was wearing was exactly the same as the one I wore at my wedding--and I still loved it. Unfortunately my marriage ended in divorce (due to my Catholic ex-husband telling me that after 13 years of marriage, he wanted to lead a gay lifestyle--I had NO idea. Can you say "clueless?" LOL)

So, when I saw "my veil" I hoped it wasn't a bad omen the vocation of this new novice. I'm not particularly superstitious, so I doubt it was--but I confess, the thought crossed my mind. However, the style of my veil was popular in late 70's/early 80's, so I doubt my veil had anything to do with the outcome of my marriage. But, even if by crazy it did, I REFUSE to take responsibility for the growth of the divorce rate after that time--just because of my wedding veil. LOL
