I converted in 2000. My Best friend (Matt) married into a Catholic family in 99. he converted before the wedding. My now wife (Joni) converted in 2002 with a best friend of mine (Jon)and hers. My mother then converted last year my Dad and one sister (Arisha) join the Church this easter as well as her kids being baptized. My other sister (tennille) kids will be baptized this easter and she and our brother in law (arishas husband will be joining next year. (as well as Jons brother (im praying). phew i hope that flows. now we are about 80% of our parish. I must thank the Holy Trinity whom without none of this would have happened.

I didn't have a clue who he was, and he didn't know me on a personal level. Within a month, though, we discover that we are both discerning the priesthood and he is now studying and in formation for the Memphis, TN diocese. We've become very close friends over the last year.

Who is your friend? I know a couple of the seminarians here, maybe I know him.

My conversion story, briefly is...

Had difficult childhood, without religious upbringing (parents were lapsed Catholics). Dropped out of high school, fell on hard times and I started reading a Gideon's New Testament someone had given me. In April, 1996, I "accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior," by signing the contract in the back.

Spent about 5 years as a lukewarm "baby Christian," while, (through the intercession of St. Dymphna), recuperating from disease, and dealing with some tough facts of life. In the end, I realized that to be truly Christian, I at least needed to go to Church, and I had always been attracted to Catholicism (the Faith of my fathers).

My mother and I began attending church. I was baptized, confirmed, and received First Communion on Easter Vigil, 2001. My life is in order now, and it is getting better. But pray for me!
