A pun like that is worthy of a bap on the nose.

First of all, I would see a doctor, hockey or no hockey.

Second, since you will be wearing a helmet while playing hockey, you should not have a problem with splitting your head open, although you could get a concussion if you crash head-first into the boards. And since you said your vertigo is positional, I doubt it would affect your hockey play unless you become a goalie and stop a puck in the postion you get your vertigo, or if you land on the ice somehow in that position.

Lastly, who would you be taking hockey lessons through? Clinics at local rinks or through the HNA beginners program? (I don't think HNA has anything out in California).

Gregoriana of Nyssa

I've had vertigo a number of times. Sometimes I can barely make it off the couch. Once I even got sick to my stomach; I moved my head a certain way, and all of a sudden the room just started spinning. I haven't had it for a while, though, so I don't know if it's "cured" or what. The last time, I did see a doctor about it; he didn't think it was serious, but gave me a prescription for meds that are used for motion sickness. I've also tried ginger pills.
