Out of curiosity, what is the course or whatever going to be? I am currently homeschooling myself using the Henle series, I am about half way done with the third term. God bless.

I'm not familiar with that series, but they tend to have a similar sequence, what particular thing are you studying right now?

I'm just starting this class, beginning with first declension and ending with Pluperfect Passive Subjunctive.

If you'd like, you could use this class as a supplement or a review, or I could help you with whatever you're doing now, if you like.

I know Latin up through scansion and translating the poetry of Catullus and Ovid.

Sounds good. I am studying passive voice. I haev gone over present, imperfect, and future indicativeactive tenses. I like it a lot, but it is kind of hard and challenging, which makes it fun! Although, I have to have my public schoolwork in a higher priorty. :sadder:

I wanted to talk now about Latin Dictionaries. If anyone would like to have a good one for a decent price, I recommend "The New College Latin & English Dictionary"

ISBN# 0-553-57301-2

Cassel's Latin Dictionary is also good, but I would use the first...the letters are clearer and the price is low, only $5.99 US/$6.99 Canada

I think I have that one from when I took Latin as a freshman in HS. I'll have to go look for it before tomorrow!

There aren't any online Latin dictionaries, are there?

Why yes there are! They won't show all the macrons (accent marks), but I may not even bother with those...many teachers don't...it's not essential until poetry, and even in pronunciation it usually make much difference, because a lot of the pronunciation comes from common sense.

Feel free to look at the whole Perseus site, it's an excellent resource with TONS of original texts freely published and their English translations.
