Galloglasses' Alt
Ok, I was on a Monarchist forum where our resident Geneologist, who is a professed homosexual took offence at another user's Signature which had this quote from Steven Colbert: "Rainbows are God's way at frowning at gay people." Now this is not the point of this thread, the point is when I jumped in to defend the user's use of signature, (because I am aquainted with him via the forum and am familiar with his sense of humour and can easily take a stab as to why he'd put that quote in his signature, IE: Because he thought it was funny), the point is somewhere along the line another poster stated in response to me that Colbert was a liberal. This I found hard to believe, outside of him being a democrat voter, he's not liberal on social, moral or religious issues, (which Ironically enough, most monarchists on the forums in question have a braod concensous on bar a few issues), so can someone fill me in on this? Because the person who stated this is no fool in my eyes and I'm rather confused about wether or not Colbert is liberal or Conservative. PS: Where the keyboard did the political forum go? He says conservative things and positions, usually, in a way so as to satarize the position.

His persona is that of a conservative talk show host such as Bill O'Reilly but no one is spared. For example, earlier in the year he had a show where Alan Colmes joined him for a "Colbert and Colmes" show in which Colert subjected Colmes to all kinds of outrageous indignities. In real life, Colbert is a committed Catholic, e.g. he teaches CCD and his local parish, and this often comes through in his show.
