Pornagraphy, Major Problem

It is one of the major problems on the internet and takes some pretty advanced procedures to even just help avoid it. Its everywhere you could search for anything and without the proper protection you will find it. The motives of these "cyber-criminals" is unknown. I personally think these are kids who have not grown up and show complete disregard for morality. It also strips the holiness and dignity from marriage. Here we discuss this issue and how to solve it. I have been exposed to this before and is a GREAT grace not to be exposed to it.

Yes it is a serious problem, because today the access to pornography is not only very easy but basically free aswell. Also I've noticed a large increase in sex advertising (an example is those meet girls phone adverts). Watching porn itself is not considered anything bad but rather natural with most people i know and masterbation is thought to be good at releasing stress and is healthy. This is very much the general view I have noticed.

Also I would like to add that masterbation for others is extremely difficult to prevent, this is the same for woman and men. The last thing we want to achieve is to those who do the act and struggle to prevent it lose their faith and hope in God. I would even go far to say its very much an addiction for some people.

Oh yeah its all over Advertising too. You could go to Walmart and the magazines show pornography. Nude scenes in itself are not bad but it depends on its motive, for instance artistic nudity is fine and usually for anatomy study by artists. Now as for masturbation I have never heard of that but I'm sure its in the catechism, isn't that some weirdo gross sexual act??? And you said its highly addicting so I'd rather not know about it in less I need to. They all need our prayers...

As someone who hangs around 'arty' and hear's all sorts of justifications from elitists regarding art and such, I have to disagree about tasteful nudity. There's is pretty much no such thing anymore. I go onto these two primary Art sites, Sheezyart and Deviantart. AWhen I go onto DA the first thing I see is 'Tasteful Nudity'

WARNING: May tempt to sin, do not read this if you feal you are weak in faith, its quite a graphic description. All spoilers in this post are like this.

'Tasteful Nudity' is a convenient excuse for an 'artist', which is a title I myself don't even apply to me nor 50% of the people on both sites, go; 'Oh! I feel like drawing/taking sexy pictures, its not porn! Its tasteful Nudity!
[mod]not appropriate even with a spoiler tag!! - Lil Red[/mod]
' It aggravates me, and the same applies to real world advertiseing, sex sells, not art. The only way I can call nudity for art's sake is for when people are using it for references for proportions, (which are a killer to do.), and the tasteful nudity of the past I will always find disagreeable, but at least in the past the nudity wasn't the bloody focus of the art.

I see this all the time, coupled with a veritable unholy amount of Yaoi and Yuri, (don't ask if you don't know, just count yourself lucky to be ignorent), cluttering up Front Page spaces on both sites. Eventually getting so bad I have to link directly to my profiles to avoid the front page of both sites. Its insane! Perversity, never mind provokitive nudity or explicite content, is pretty much accepted as normality. I'm sick of it all. And this is coming from someone who does have a masturbation addiction. Its bloody hell on the internet.

When I say art i mean the classic art like William-Adolphe Bouguereau where his art does usually have some sort of nudity but there is NO sexual reason, He did tons of Catholic art as well as scenes from mythology. He is well known for his paintings to be almost "better than life". In fact artists at the time had to follow some modesty rules about nudity, it may NOT be for any sexual reason. Sorry about your masturbation addiction I have no clue what it is but I know its bad and I will include you in my prayers. Art is not tasteful nudity as I said in NO way is it for any sexual, provocative, or romantic reason (at least the decent arts ;) ). :D

PS: Are you British?

Cal - just be careful you do not get too involved in discussing pornography and other sexual sins. While it is excellent to be aware of them (which helps one avoid temptation and "triggers"), if you become preoccupied...well, I just think that too much thinking on these topics can become dangerous. A lot of the information you will come across is explicit, and may lead you into sin. This is especially important to keep in mind since you are just beginning puberty and the hormones will be raging.

Very good advice HCF, my sista in Christ. The Evil One is a sly dude Cal, and when he sees young people like you wanting to defend the faith, expecially at your age, he wants to break you down. God certainly has an annointing on your life. You strike me as a kid who has been given a calling by God. I urge everyone on this site to keep Cal in prayer.
