This is just what I have heard taught. I'm catholic so I believe what you guys believe.

WHEN WAS THE BEGINNING?
Commonly referred to as The Three Earth Ages teaching.

"In the beginning...."

These are the first three English words in the Bible. But when was this beginning? Did it begin a mere six-thousand years ago with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden? What does the Bible tell us? As with all of God's word, there is so much more written just below the surface right there before our eyes, hidden to most but there for the discovery of all. Let's dig it out!

We will study what God's Word, The Bible, says about the beginning; the beginning of not only the history of the creation of the world as we now know it today, but also the creation of the world that then was, as well as the world that is to come (Heaven). These are known as Earth Ages, and there are three of them spoken of in the Bible; we will learn of them in this study. We will also read of time-gap in scriptures, a great flood and destruction other than and before Noah's flood; we will even read of dinosaurs in the scriptures.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of quality in-depth teaching of God's written Word, many Christians have been led into confusion regarding foundational truths that are so very important to our understanding of the whole of God's Word and His plan. There is a plan and a "theme" to the Bible and it flows from Genesis through Revelation. But how can we understand the ending of God's plan (Revelation) if we don't fully understand the beginning (Genesis)? Today we will study several key scriptures in the Bible that many of us have just read over without fully understanding the deeper truths that were contained within them. Understanding these key fundamental truths is vital to understanding the whole of God's Word. But due to the false teachings and the half truths that we have been exposed to our entire life, often we must first unlearn the untruths, before we can learn the truths of God's most Perfect Word, The Bible.

This present topic (the beginning) is so very important because it will shatter a myth that has caused many intelligent well intentioned souls to disregard the Bible because they feel that the Bible goes against good, hard scientific fact; although in reality, nothing could actually be further from the truth.

You may have been told at some point by some of the unlearned within the 'religious community' that this earth is only six-thousand years old because of the fact that it is when God formed Adam in the Garden of Eden (4004 BC). And then you go to a museum and see entire skeletal remains of dinosaurs that have been Potassium-Argon dated to millions of years old!

Carbon 14 and Potassium-Argon dating are reported by Scientists to be quite accurate, although great care must be used in the testing of the specimen for results to be accurate. But it is only through God's perfect laws of nature and the very science that He gave us to explore and harness; that we are even able to date these items at all. Carbon 14 and Potassium-Argon dating calculate the deterioration or transformation of certain elements. These elements deteriorate or transform at a constant rate and thus allow us to determine the age that a certain organic specimen was alive.

The discovery of dinosaur remains that are dated to millions of years old does not go against the truths that God has placed in the Bible for us. In fact, it is scientific discoveries such as that which bears witness to His truths when we competently look at them! It was God that created the science, He created the elements and the laws of nature. It is a gift of God that chemicals and molecules act and deteriorate in a constant fashion, and that we have this scientific means of documenting the past of our planet earth.

Near the end of this study, We will see of a place that God mentions the dinosaur in the Bible. This should prove unnerving to those that stake their soul on the fact of the Bible being just the imaginations of some old sheep herders in Jerusalem. For we did not even discover the existence of dinosaurs until the A.D. 1800's, but the latest book written in the Bible was written in approximately A.D. 94 (Revelation). And the book that the dinosaur is mentioned in (Job) is thought to be the first book of the Bible put into writing, it is believed that the book of Job was written even before Moses scribed the book of Genesis sometime around 1490 BC.

Let's begin our study at the first verse of the first chapter of the first book in our Bible. Genesis was written by the inspiration of Almighty God through the hand of Moses, for Moses was not yet born when the events recorded in the beginning of the book Genesis transpired. We can determine from the genealogies recorded in the Bible that Moses was born on or about 1571 BC, and Adam was formed in 4004 BC in the Garden of Eden. Thus what we read here is the Divinely inspired account of the creation of the foundation of the world, and we most certainly must reflect on every word, for they are the words of Almighty God Himself.

We will now look at [Genesis 1:1 and 1:2]. We will take certain key words and do an in-depth study of the meanings of them in the Hebrew language, which is the language that the Old Testament books of the Bible were originally written in. These below definitions are taken from the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance, a must have Bible study tool for the serious student of the Word.

Below are the first two verses of the Bible and they say much more than we can see on the surface. Understanding these two verses will unlock the meaning of many of the things in our Bibles that made little of no sense to us before or even seemed contradictory. I assure you, the Bible does not contradict itself, nor does the Bible contradict good objective scientific fact. For first came the Bible then science.

Let's begin our study with a prayer for wisdom and understanding from our Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior.

GENESIS 1:1-2

Gen 1:1
1 In the beginning*1 God created the heaven and the earth.*2
Embedded notes in Scripture (by #):
*1). In the beginning. It states: "In the beginning," but it doesn't say when that was. We know from archeology that this earth is billions of years old. Scientific Carbon Dating does not contradict this verse!

There is no date given in the above Scripture, why try to affix one? It is impossible, for there is no reference point given. We can however pick up a date when Adam will later in the Scriptures be formed, because all his ancestor's ages are given in the Scriptures themselves, and the age that they were when they had the next child chronologically in the list. There was a reason that God saw to it that this, seemingly redundant and unimportant information, was handed down through the Millennia whereby we may simply add the numbers up together and deduct them from any certain date in secular history.
But Adam's being formed is long after this verse transpires. This is a substantial point often overlooked by those whom, for whatever reasons of their own, seek to cast doubt on the Bible. It didn't say that God created the Earth when He formed Adam. So while with certainly we may date Adam, we cannot do the same with the date of the creation of the world. Why charge God and His Bible with error when the real problem is our inability to read what is written and to not read into it that which is not written?

*2). We notice that there is a period at the end of this sentence. That means that this thought is complete and the next sentence is a new thought. In reality there is unknown eons of time between this verse and the next. This is what is called time gap in scriptures, and it is recognized to occur in at least twenty-five places in the Bible. Below, I will supply five of those places for your observation, two from the Old Testament and two from the New Testament, one of them having two time gaps in consecutive verses (the Revelation example):

Zechariah chapter 9, between verses 9 - 10 (First Advent / Second Advent).
Zech 9:9-10
9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth. (KJV)

Isaiah chapter sixty-one, in the middle of verse two
(First Advent / Second Advent).

Isa 61:1-2
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; (KJV)

Matthew chapter 10, in the middle of verse 23
( Christ's time / Final generation).

Matt 10:23
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. (KJV)

Revelation Chapter 12, in the middle of verse 4
(First earth age / Christ's time)
Rev 12:3-4
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. (KJV)

Revelation Chapter 12, between verses 5-6
(Christ's time / Final generation)
Rev 12:5-6
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. (KJV)

Returning to our Genesis Scripture:

Gen 1:2 [(2a) = 1st half of verse]
2(a). And the earth was*1 without form*2, and void*3; and darkness*4 was upon the face of the deep*5 .*6 And the Spirit of God*7 moved upon the face of the waters. [Verse 2 Continues below] Embedded notes in Scripture (by #):

*1). was is the English translation of a Hebrew word (hayah) which means Became. In other words, the earth was not created without form and void, but that it became that way at some point in time after it was created.

Hebrew word #1961 hayah (haw-yaw); a primitive root [compare 1933]; to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass (always emphatic, and not a mere copula or auxiliary)

*2). without form was translated from the Hebrew word (tohuw) that means: to lie waste, a desolation. You cannot lie waste or desolate something unless it was once in good condition and then at some later time it was destroyed.
Hebrew word #8414 tohuw (to'-hoo);
from an unused root meaning to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), i.e. desert; figuratively, a worthless thing; adverbially, in vain: KJV-- confusion, empty place, without form, nothing, (thing of) nought, vain, vanity, waste, wilderness.

*3). void is translated from a Hebrew word (bohuw) that means: an indistinguishable ruin. You cannot have a ruin unless there was at first, something to ruin.

Hebrew word #922 bohuw (bo'-hoo);
from an unused root (meaning to be empty); a vacuity, i.e. (superficially) an undistinguishable ruin: KJV-- emptiness, void.

*4). darkness (choshek) as it is used here means to become dark, to be darkened. You cannot darken something that was not lit in the first place.

Hebrew word #2822 choshek (kho-shek');
from 2821; the dark; hence (literally) darkness; figuratively, misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness: KJV-- dark (-ness), night, obscurity.

*5). deep, this corresponds with the description of the destruction of the first earth age by water in 2 Peter 3:5+6 (NOT Noah's flood here.

Hebrew word #8415 tehowm (teh-home'); or tehom (teh-home');
(usually feminine) from 1949; an abyss (as a surging mass of water), especially the deep (the main sea or the subterranean water-supply): KJV-- deep (place), depth.

*6). There is a period at the end of this sentence. The following sentence marks the beginning of the rejuvenation into this (our current day) earth age.

*7). Spirit of God = The Holy Spirit; the Spirit of God IS the Holy Spirit.

Below, we will see what Almighty God says about the way He created the world, and we see that He did not create it void and without form, but that it became like that at a later time:

Isa 45:18-19
18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain*1, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. (KJV)

*1). vain = There is something remarkable here that is lost to the English reader of the Bible. In the Hebrew Manuscripts that the above verse was translated out of, the word translated into the English as vain is translated from the identical Hebrew word that we saw in Gen 1:1 (tohuw - #2 above), it's the same Hebrew word.

So that should explain what it is really saying when we read in Gen 1:2: "And the earth was without form [tohuw], and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep."

It is important to point out that the separation of Chapters, Verses, Sentences, and even the spaces between words is the work of the Scribes and the Translators. In the ancient Manuscripts, the whole page is written like one long word. The Scribes and Translators only had their interpretation of the meaning of the scripture to use as a guide, when separating Chapters, Verses, Lines, and the words.

This happens in our verse 2 above, in the middle of verse two after the period we have the sentence that marks the beginning of the rejuvenation of the world into our present earth age (the second of three): "And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." This rejuvenation continues on in the following verses as God creates everything as we know it in our world.

So therefore, with the truest meanings of the key defined words in the above scripture explained, we can thus take the first verse and the first half of the second verse, up to the period, and present it as such:

1) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. (Notice the periods)

And now we will explain the verse, not retranslate it. We will describe it so that it explains not only the Hebrew words in the English language, but also the Hebrew thought into the English understanding. Therefore, it will be better understood if read as:

In the beginning of time, when that was isn't stated, God created everything in the Heavens and on the earth. Then some unknown length of time later, something catastrophic occurred that made God's Creation come to utter destruction, it became a wasted place. This destruction manifested itself among other things as a total flood. So complete was this destructive event that not only did the earth become an indistinguishable ruin, but even the sun stopped shining its light upon it, and all the earth was cast into utter darkness.

Then the second sentence of verse 2 marks the start of the rejuvenation of the earth and the commencement of God's Creation on the earth as we know it now in this present second earth age which we now live in.

Returning to our Genesis Scripture:

Gen 1:2 (Cont.) through verse 5
[Verse 2(b) Cont.] ...And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Vs.3) And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Vs. 4) And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. (Vs. 5) And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day . . . . (KJV)

It is not written how much time transpired between the destruction of the first earth age and the rejuvenation of the earth for the second earth age. God was very angry, we will learn why later in this study. And this flooding of the waters should not be confused with Noah's flood. As we will learn further on in this study, this particular destruction and subsequent overflowing of the waters, was complete and total, and nothing or no-one survived it! In the flood of Noah, we know that Noah, his family, and at least two of every flesh that were brought aboard survived.

The first earth age was inhabited by us, by our souls in a different form, there were no flesh human bodies then (animals yes). In that first earth age we all had spiritual bodies, in this earth age we have flesh bodies because we were created and formed from the dust of the earth.

When God destroyed that first earth age, the souls, the spiritual bodies returned to the Father (God), just as we do when we die in this earth age. But spiritual bodies leave no organic remains. When we die today, only our organic remains (flesh and bone) remain to be buried. Our soul, our spiritual being or spiritual body so to speak, returns instantly to the Father whom gave it.

In this present second earth age we have two bodies, one within the other, and they can only be separated by death. In the first earth age we only had the spiritual bodies. You know that when someone dies today we bury their body, but their soul goes back to God that gave it. It is this soul that will be judged either to Heaven or "Hell". But the deceased flesh that we bury simply rots back to the dirt and minerals that they are formed of.

Your spirit (your intellect) and your soul will either live forever or will be consumed in the lake of fire (Hell). Just as you will never find or see any physical remains of someone's soul, or spiritual body; neither will you find physical remains of those spiritual bodies that inhabited the earth in the first earth age. You will however, find the remains of their existence; the markings, tools, and the residue of settlements. But the spiritual bodies went back to the Father, and are now in the process of going through this second earth age, in flesh bodies. There is a reason for this (explained further on in this study). Every soul goes through each earth age only one time, but it is the same one soul! Use this as an analogy: At one time we were all infants, then children, and eventually adults, but it was always us, the same one person.

OK, now that we can see that there was an earth age before this one, chronologically transpiring between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, let's examine why there had to be the second (our present one). There is very little written of that first earth age, but we will examine a couple of places where it is spoken of. The key to understanding that there was an earth age before this one is in understanding why God destroyed that first earth age and Created this one. God does not do anything without a reason and in understanding why He destroyed that first earth age we can know with a surety that it did in fact once exist.

There are to be three earth ages altogether. We know that we live in one and that "Heaven" is another one, so it should not be surprising that there was one before our present one. All Souls, all of us, were present in that first earth age but God does not allow us to retain knowledge of it. He place a veil between that age and this one so that none of us could recollect it. That may have something to do with the fact that Scientists tells us that we only use approximately 9% of our brains (exact percentage disputed). In the eternity (Heaven) we will have full recall of all three earth ages, and full use of our intellect. There is no mental retardation in a spiritual body, nor is there disease and malformation, the spiritual body does not even age.

In that first earth age in which all our souls lived, satan rebelled against God and led one third of God's children to fight against him - Rev 12:4 "And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth".

As stated, in this first earth age we were all in spiritual bodies. We were not born of woman like we are in this earth age, in fact there are no female forms with spiritual bodies, nor do they age, which is why whenever there is a report in the Bible of an Angel it is always described as a young male. That doesn't mean that the females that are in this earth age didn't exist then, it just means that in spiritual bodies there is no need for pregnancy and physical birth, thus we were all in the same form, having no female gender. See Luke 20:28-38, Specifically:

Luke 20:34-36
34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. KJV

Today we are children of men, born of women, but in Heaven (the third age) we shall be children of God, not born of any woman. We shall be "equal unto the angels" which means the same as the angels. Angels have no female gender, and neither shall we in the angel's realm, which is the realm of God, which is eternal; no death, no birth in heaven, thus, no need for the female form (gender). Today we are perishable, liable to die, going to die someday; flesh dies, spirit does not (unless God blots it out in the Lake of Fire after Judgment Day).

That brings to mind the absurdity of the feminist's rendition of Almighty God as a female with breasts. The only female gods are the false nonexistent goddesses of pagan idolatry, I hope for the feminist's sake that God winks at their ignorance. This is no knock on the female gender either, females are great, it is just that being male carries no significance if there is no female; just like being single would mean absolutely nothing if no one were married. This also condemns, as errant, the Marian Worship of the Catholics. And the so-called Marian Apparitions are merely demons in disguise. See our Mary Worship.

To understand this you cannot think in the flesh of this present male and female gendered second earth age, you have to look at it spiritually. For in Heaven (the third age) we will all be in spiritual bodies and not flesh bodies; and likewise we were all in spiritual bodies in the first earth age. Do not confuse this with reincarnation, reincarnation does not exist, it is just a lie from satan to make the heathen believe that they are not accountable to Almighty God on judgment day for their actions. There 'gonna' reincarnate alright, right into the Lake Of Fire if their not careful! The Reincarnationist New-Age Religionists would do well to absorb 2 Cor 5:10 & 11 (below). Let's learn from Apostle Paul of the flesh body and the Spiritual body:

1 Cor 15:44
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. (KJV)

2 Cor 5:6-11
6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. (KJV)

In this great war in Heaven which brought about the destruction of the first earth age, satan and his misguided bunch of blasphemers of course lost. God destroyed that first earth age. Your best documentation of that first earth age would be in the best account of it's destruction, found in the book of Jeremiah:

Jer 4:22-27
22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

Here you see a second Scriptural witness to Genesis 1:2, this lets you know that we are talking about the destruction of the first earth age. This destruction was brought about by water, just as with Noah's flood, but should not be confused by Noah's flood; they were two different events.

24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.

This is thought by some (including us) to be the cause of the earth being off-kilter. It is a fact that the earth spins on an axis that is 23½ degrees of center, and also that True North and Magnetic North are several degrees apart; the number of degrees varies depending where on earth you take the measurement.

25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.

We see in verse 25 above: "there was no man" and "all the birds of the heavens were fled", that we are not talking about Noah's flood here. For Noah, his family, as well as sets of every flesh animal, including birds, passed through the flood!

26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

We also see that the first earth age was inhabited, and even had cities: "all the cities thereof were broken down". Are thee any remains of these cities left today? Well there is some work being done on the ocean floor, but the results are not in. There seem to be city grids well beneath the ocean surface in one place. This is possible as with the destruction of the first earth age in Genesis 1:2(a) (i.e., the first half of verse) "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep", and the subsequent rejuvenating of it in Gen 1:2(b) "And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters" there may well have been a massive shift of the land masses.

27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

God said that the ruin of that first earth age wasn't the end; Thus we have this second earth age in which we live now.

So when you understand that God wholly destroyed the earth with water before Noah's Flood, then much difficulty is removed from many Scriptures. The destruction from Noah's Flood was nowhere as complete as the first destruction, as we seen. After Noah's Flood God promised to never destroy the earth with water again "...neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth." (Gen 9:11). (Next time he shall use fire).

Our Jeremiah Scripture above was the destruction of the first earth age in God's own words through the Prophet Jeremiah. God was very angry at his creation because they had tried to overthrow Him. But he would have had to destroy one third of his children that had joined satan and rebelled against him Rev 12:4, and He did not want to do that. If you had three kids, no matter how much they betrayed you, could you bring yourself to kill one of them?

So this second earth age, this flesh earth age, became necessary so as to allow every soul to come through it and make a choice between following God or following satan. Those are the only two choices, and if you do not make a conscious choice to love and follow God through Jesus Christ, then you have made a unconscious choice to follow satan with the ways of this world.

God placed a veil between this earth age and the first so that we cannot know what side we were on in that revolt, nor do we posses any memory of it. Once again, I must stress that this is not saying there is any reincarnations; the very concept of re-incarnation is blasphemy to God and Jesus Christ! Each soul can only pass through each earth age one time; just like we live in this earth age but we can also live in the next earth age, referred to as Heaven. Well why would it be so difficult to accept that there was one before this one, that made this one necessary? We are flesh now, but in Heaven we will be spirit, and in the first earth age we were also in spiritual bodies.

God also gave this earth age the benefit of a Savior; Jesus Christ. But at the same time He allowed satan an equal chance to deceive us again, or else, what would be the use of this earth age, which itself is nothing more than a proving ground, a place and a time for us to decide whom we will Love and follow?

You have free will to follow God or follow satan, you must ASK God to show you the True way. Many people wonder why God lets people become evil and to do harm in this world. As with everything God does there is a very good reason for this; God seeks only your true love for Him, everything else is incidental. The sole reason for our time here on earth is to determine if we will Love God or follow satan. You remember that in the first earth age one third of God's children turned against Him and chose satan? God remembers.

And, to have true love for God generate within us, God 'had to' give us free will to make a choice. God also 'had to' allow satan another opportunity to deceive us, otherwise, if God programmed us to love Him and not allow us to be tempted by satan once again then our love really wouldn't mean anything. You can't make someone love you and have it to be true love. And God abiding by His own rules accepts that some will forsake Him and instead turn to satan again; though God desires that none lose themselves "Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish." (Matt 18:14). He will not interfere with your free will, or it would not be your own free will!

So therefore you must ASK God in your prayers to help you find the true path that pleases Him; and why not tell Him that you love Him? He has emotions, you know; we are created in His likeness, and when one of His beloved children, whom He created, tell Him that they love Him, it just makes His day! God is not some cold unfeeling force out there in space, He is our Father, our Heavenly Father, and we are His beloved children. Won't you treat Him as one?

In the eternity (Heaven) it shall be so "He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son." (Rev 21:7). We explained the gender term (son) earlier, for in Heaven we shall all be in our spiritual bodies which have no female gender. Women today shall not have female gender parts in Heaven, but they will be there.

Where else in God's word do we see mention of the three separate earth ages?

In 2nd Peter 3:5-13 we see all three of the earth ages mentioned. By having them all three spoken of in order, in the same scripture, it would be impossible for someone to think that we are mistaking a complex combination of different scriptures and arriving at an unsound conclusion about three separate earth ages. The below are all given in order without a break.

2 Pet 3:5-13
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

This was the first earth age. The one God had to destroy because of revolt.

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

This is this present earth age (second) that we live in now.

8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. (KJV)

This is the third age yet to come (commonly referred to as Heaven).

I mentioned that there were dinosaurs in God's Word, and if you draw the creature that God speaks to Job about, you will find that you are well on your way to drawing one species of dinosaur, perhaps one of the very largest; Brontosaurus or Apatosaurus? It grew up to ninety-eight feet in length and weigh tons.

In the Old Testament book of Job, God describes a creature to Job. The only reason God was telling Job about the behemoth (dinosaur), was to humble Job, and to say to him that God is the creator of even the most awesome, gigantic creatures.

Some Bible versions substitute the word 'behemoth' with 'hippopotamus', this is an incorrect translation and can be cleared up easily by referring to verse 17; verse 17 describes a tail like a Cedar tree; a hippo has a little 'pig tail'. God states in Job 40:17 "He moveth his tail like a cedar." A Brontosaurus (Apatosaurus) has a tail like the mighty Cedar tree, the Brontosaurus' tail grew to some thirty feet long, weighing over five tons. You've all seen the assembled skeletal remains in the museums.

The Behemoth, with the description from God in the Scripture:

Job 40:15-24
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares. (KJV)

Explanation and description of Job 40:15-24. Below, in verse number:

15, he was created in the first earth age, when God made the souls of man.
16, it describes a large muscular body.
17, it describes a tail like a Cedar tree; long and mighty.
17, the "sinues of his stones" are stout strong legs.
18, his bones are very strong and solid, large bone is strong.
19, he is chief of all of God's kingdom, he is the mightiest of all animals (has no natural predator).
20, they climb into the mountains.
23, he doesn't have to be in fear of predators at the watering hole.
23, when he drinks, he drinks allot, as though he could drink up the river Jordan.
24, nothing can snare (trap) him, he is the chief of all creatures (see verse 19), and even his very nose is larger and more powerful than any trap that could be laid for him.
Well that's it for this Bible study. Understanding is the key to God's Word, and with what you have just learned about God's creation and His plan from the beginning. Many of the scriptures that made no sense before may now be unlocked to your understanding. The key is first to believe God then to learn what He said.

And for any of you that may be a beginning Bible student, don't worry, the bible may seem complicated and confusing a first, but if you stick with it and with the Grace of God it will all come together and flow very smoothly in your mind. Did not Jesus say "But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things." (Mark 13:23)? He tells us all in the book that is written of Him, the Bible "Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God." (Heb 10:7).

The purpose and mission of the Messiah Jesus Christ

Heb 10:4-10
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. [Old Testament, Covenant]
5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. [1st / 2nd = Old/New Testament, Covenant]
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. [New Testament, Covenant] (KJV)

But be assured, when you learn to stop listening to the "traditions of man" and follow God's Word, it really does lift such a heavy burden off of ones mind when he understands exactly what God expects from him and exactly what God and Jesus Christ have promised to him! You can have that someday soon if you continue to study in God's Word, The Bible. God will not deny anyone who seeks Him and His promises. When God says: "whosoever believeth" (see below), He means it! And it can apply to you as well.

John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)

In the beginning it can be somewhat difficult to understand the Bible; but with the assistance of sound Bible-believing teaching it becomes easier to understand, and eventually you will be able to read and understand on your own. Then perhaps one day God can use you to help someone else. That's how it works. Anyway, you're always welcome to study here with us!

The next Bible study in chronological order after this current one is: Mankind, the two separate creation events

God bless you and your studies of His Word, in the name of the Messiah Jesus Christ.

Below are some reader's questions and/or objections to this study. In answering them we have been able to add further insight and shed greater light from the perfect Scriptures into the matter. Seeing them will aid the reader further in this study.

no nothing of the sort is found in the O.T.

I've heard this idea from a friend at work. He got it from these Protestant pseudo-pop theologians, and quite frankly I dont know where they get this idea from. It displays there total ignorance, for it is impossible for a fallen angel to have relations with a human. Isnt that obvious?
I'm sure this was answered in that really, really long post that I haven't read yet, but what is being referred to here is the nephilim.

The word is translated as 'giant' and it is considered to be an antedeluvian group of people descended from both angels and humans. This background is given in Genesis 6.
And after that men began to be multiplied upon the earth, and daughters were born to them, The sons of God seeing the daughters of men, that they were fair, took to themselves wives of all which they chose.

And God said: My spirit shall not remain in man for ever, because he is flesh, and his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

Now giants were upon the earth in those days. For after the sons of God went in to the daughters of men, and they brought forth children, these are the mighty men of old, men of renown.

Genesis 6:1-4
Now, these giants should have perished in the Flood which is described immediately after, but possibly some of their descendants ended up being the giants described to be living in Canaan in Numbers 13 (or of course Goliath). Regardless, only some Biblical scholars interpret this passage as saying that fallen angels and human women had offspring together. Another interpretation is that descendants of Cain intermarried with the descendants of Adam and Eve's other children. This would make more sense as a 'cause' of the Flood than trying to eliminate a race of giants. But Jude 1:6 refers to angels that 'did not keep their own domain, but abandoned their proper abode' which could be considered an allusion to fallen angels being the parents of the nephilim.

Jesus did tell us that angels neither marry nor are given in marriage. I think that his statement should not be discounted in interpreting this passage of Genesis. But it is not true that no legitimate Christian or Catholic theologian interprets the passage as referring to fallen angels - quite the contrary:
Later Judaism and almost all the earliest ecclesiastical writers identify the "sons of God" with the fallen angels; but from the fourth century onwards, as the idea of angelic natures becomes less material, the Fathers commonly take the "sons of God" to be Seth's descendants and the "daughters of men" those of Cain.

—Jerusalem Bible, Genesis VI, footnote.
Is it possible just because angels neither marry or are given in marriage, they still could of reproduced with human women ? And if not where did Goliath come from ? Is it possible once satan came into the earth dimension he would/could take on a human body ? If so could that have anything to do with original sin, adam, and eve ? Since satan could appear both male and female he could appeal to both of them. I have also heard from Bible scholars that original sin had to with sexual relations between adam, eve, and satan.

Rather that after satan tempted adam and eve to eat of the tree of knowledge and their eyes were opened to good and evil then sexual relations took place. Before they ate of the tree of knowledge they didn't realise they were naked. They became like the Most High knowing good and evil after partaking of the only tree God told them not to touch. Which also seems to be the exact same tree that leaves produce medicine in revleation that keeps us alive forever in Heaven.....The tree of life. Revelation 22:2 in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

God is Good it's to bad adam and eve didn't just say no like He told them to.

Nephilim is the plural from the root nephal, which, if I remember correctly, means "to fall". So nephilim would mean "the fallen". From what I have been told, from those who know more about the culture and languages of the Near East than I, this is a common way of referring to warriors in this area.

Where do giants come from today? There is a medical condition that causes giantism. Like with Andre the Giant. :)

But again, "sons of God" doesn't necessarily denote angels, as it could again be figurative language. I don't claim to know for certain, just giving other explanations. :)

I agree I'm not saying what I have heard taught is right. I study with the shepherds chapel on t.v. and they seem to be good teachers of the word. They teach the 3 earth age theory and also teach about satan, adam and eve having sexual relations after their eyes were opened from the tree of knowledge and they became like God. They also teach against the rapture theory and seem to be pretty in line with what the church teaches on grace, faith, and works. They do put a high emphasis on the Bible though and believe all the answers to the past and the future are included in it.

From Pastor Murray :

Serpent Seed

What about teaching Serpent Seed? I make no apology for teaching the Word of God. In Matthew 13, our Lord and Saviour explains the Parable of the Sower directly to His disciples. He is very explicit about exactly who the sower of the bad seed really is. Matthew 13:37-39 states, "He (Jesus) answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; the enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels."

Let no one tell you Christ was speaking in a parable here for He was carefully explaining to His disciples the real meaning of the parable He had previously spoken to the multitude. He talked with them in private, and He used language that a child could understand. Christ's teaching of the seed of the devil (or serpent) was nothing new, it was taught from the beginning of Scripture - Genesis.

In Genesis 3:15 God is speaking to the serpent, "and I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel." The bruising of the heel took place when Christ was nailed to the Cross. And finally, for those who still want further proof as to who the serpent really is; we read in Revelation 12:9, "and the great Dragon was cast out, that old Serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world." Now can anyone with eyes to see and ears to hear have any doubt or confusion about Satan's own seed?

You have to be very careful in associating the first sin with sexual relations between Adam and Eve. It is possible to interpret Genesis to say that they were virgins before the fall - possible, but not necessary. Adam and Eve were husband and wife, living in perfect communion with God prior to the Fall. Thus...there is no reason to suspect that a sexual relationship between them would have been sinful in any way. The explanation of marriage ('for this reason, a man leaves his mother and father...and the two become one flesh') occurs before the account of the Fall.

Some commentators have indeed claimed that Adam and Eve were virgins in their state of innocence. I'm going to forget which Church Father I have in mind now, though...perhaps Iraneus? But regardless, you can certainly claim that Adam and Eve did not know one another in that way until after the Fall.

But the Fall itself was not a sexual sin, nor a sexual temptation. It was disobedience to God, and the temptation was to become like God - some combination of envy and pride. The reason Adam and Eve's eyes were opened to their nakedness after the Fall was because disrupting their relationship with God (as all sin certainly does), they also disrupted their relationship with one another. Suddenly, the barriers of fear and shame were present, whereas before, Adam and Eve would not have experienced these things. That is why their nakedness changed meaning, and they were suddenly acutely aware of it.

It is also theologically valid to claim that Adam and Eve were husband and wife, in a consummated relationship, prior to the Fall. Pope John Paul II makes this interpretation in his Theology of the Body - the first 20 audiences are a thorough exegesis on the opening chapters of Genesis. If you are interested, I will find the audience where he discusses this topic.

I agree with all this. I'm not saying sex was the cause of the fall. The cause of the fall was partaking in the tree of knowledge. This is what caused their eyes to be opened and become like God knowing good and evil. Satan tempted adam and eve to eat from this tree. Once they did they fell from grace. This is where I have heard taught that satan had sexual relations with eve which gave birth to cain. If it were not for satan tempting adam and eve to eat the tree of knowledge there would of been no way for them to sin. It was through the tree of knowledge of good and evil satan was able to bring death into the world. And perhaps start his seed line that gave birth to the giants and ect.
