Photographs Of Jesus And The Blessed Mother

I take it that some have been proved with minimal doubt to be faked and some simply are an innocent reflection, but some of them really freaked me out:

A number of the "photographs" are pretty much identical, obvious crops/edits of the same original. If Jesus or Mary were to appear to multiple people, even with the same physical likeness, wouldn't the angle or pose or expression be slightly different in each appearance?

Some of them look interesting, though. Would be nice to have some substantiated background on them. Most of the pages linked to are... strange.

Yes, this was the discrepancy I noticed first.

There might still be a chance that one of them is original, and the rest were copies of the original with a bit of photoshop effects applied.

I find the images of Mary to be the most realistic.

Yeah, I've noted these ones. In one of the videos (in the second link you gave) there is in fact a closeup of Mary's face. I have taken a still image of her Mary's face and uploaded it in the site below. Now no one can dispute that below is not an image of Mary:

I was also wondering if apparitions of Mary normally occur on the tops of Orthodox Churches, if so, what does that mean about the Catholic and Orthodox union?

I do note that in the article it also said:

The apparitions were also approved by the local Catholic Patriarch, Cardinal Stephanos I (Stephen I), who stated that the apparitions of our Lady at Zeitoun were beyond any doubt and were seen by many of his trustworthy Coptic Catholic children.

This is the only apparition approved or unapproved where it occurred at an Orthodox Church. The most famous Church appearance of Our Lady is probably Knock, Ireland.

The Vatican also sent a commission to Egypt while the apparitions were still occurring. The commission attested to what they saw and sent word back to the Holy Father. I find it interesting about the groups that attest to seeing this. Muslim, Protestants, and Catholics were all in the affirmative of what they saw.

So this is the only one. Who knows, there may be more to come in future

The fact that people from all walks of life and religions witnessed this just adds strength to the legitimacy of the Church's Marian devotion. I know it's one of the main points of struggle amongst protestants.

Groo the Wanderer

In the first sets of photos, I am thinking St. Joseph should have tried a different f-stop setting. Either that or use a lower speed film with a higher exposure. It does raise one very important question though? Where did he get the film developed? Walgreen's hadn't been invented yet and Atlantis had already sunk.

The photos of the apparition around the Coptic Church are incredible though and quite moving.

My main thought in looking at these pictures is the day I will them both for myself.

Of course this requires death, but that's no big deal, death will come in time. Till then, faith will suffice.
