the_rev
AT school when you see Catholics on Friday eating meat, and not giving a gosh darn care about what they are doing, going against church settings. One girl said to me, Look Ed, I'm eating Chicken, and i'm cahtolic. I said it is only I and God that care about your soul... Anyways, that just bothers me, I know how much these familes have done to rasie their kids catholic, but then being taught not to eat meat, they just go around and eat meat. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
EcceNovaFacioOmni
One girl said to me, Look Ed, I'm eating Chicken, and i'm cahtolic.
I apologize in advance if this is a friend of yours but the person sounds like a moron. Knowingly and openly rejecting God only affects themselves.

Thy Geekdom Come
I had a Catholic teacher who was talking (in a public school, no less) about how it is okay for Catholics to eat meat on Lenten Fridays because the only reason we're supposed to eat fish is that the Vatican a long time ago invested in the fishing industry and wanted to boost the profits! She said that she "heard this from a friend at Notre Dame" in a tone that made it sound like because her friend went to a Catholic (and pretty nominally so) school, he must know his Catholic history... Of course, it's all a load of carp, and I "heard that from Fr. Levis of EWTN."

Thy Geekdom Come
hey watch the attacks on Notre Dame, the GREATEST Catholic Univeristy in the land...
Yes, I know that I'm surrounded, but from what I hear, there are not too many good Catholic things left about it...which worries me. I only want the best for ND. Rudy! Rudy! Rudy! LOL

EcceNovaFacioOmni
I've decided if I become a Holy Cross priest, my mission will be to restore orthodoxy at Our Lady's University (Notre Dame). Anyways, I've never run into this situation with others before, I guess it's because we don't discuss religion. Only one person has bragged about eating meat on a Lenten Friday and he is an atheist trying to be humorous. I have a hard time seeing anyone I know doing this out of spite, maybe out of ignorance or hunger...
Thy Geekdom Come
I've decided if I become a Holy Cross priest, my mission will be to restore orthodoxy at Our Lady's University (Notre Dame).
It's a noble duty. Certain Catholic colleges and universities, even particular seminaries (*cough) need to have orthodoxy returned, but certain administrators (*cough cough) ignore the demands of the Magisterium and the outcry for orthodoxy from the overwhelmingly pro-Magisterium student body. I'm currently developing my own language, perhaps I should use it for these awkward Phatmass moments when the fact that my superiors can read all my internet posts (if they ever did, I'd be surprised, but still) may get me into trouble for repping the pope...
