TotusTuusMaria
saw his interview today with impacto...... he remains unrepentant, wouldn't change a thing and did it so "it could be out in the open". "God is love, so this is not wrong." I held out some hope for him, but it seems he has chosen to be with this woman, since, as he said, "Is only a man who is full of love for one woman who has an immense faith." And yes, he said he still loves this woman and she loves him. it is "freedom" now. While I am not one to judge, he needs to be out of the limelight. He needs our prayers. this is heartbreaking.
*sigh* how depressing more again! *sigh* I thought he was repentant and was going to put an end to it... very sad. the lords sheep
Yeah, one of the franciscans who worked on Life on the Rock left the priesthood to be with a woman whom he was counseling and her family
Guest
Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? Although I may not be an apostle for others, certainly I am for you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. My defense against those who would pass judgment on me to is this. Do we not have the right to eat and drink? Do we not have the right to take along a Christian wife, as do the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? If you can't, then you are not being called to the Catholic priesthood. Fr. Cutie violated his vows to the Lord. He shouldn't have taken those vows if he felt he could "be freed" from them. Also, just because we have wayward priests who violate their vows and bring all sorts of scandal to the Church, doesn't mean the Church needs to do away with the priesthood as we know it now. Married couples cheat on each other every day. We see couples getting divorced all the time. Should we change marriage? IF you want to get married and take vows to remain loyal and faithful to your husband, let's make it so you two can go out and fool around with other people. Let's make it so that the two can go out and take pleasure with multiples partners. This way married couples can be "free!" Of course, the media, cafeteria Catholics and the worldly would jump on the bandwagon protesting the Celibate priesthood... I like what one priest said on one of the news programs I watched about this: The Catholic Priesthood adopted celibacy because Jesus Christ was celibate. Jesus Christ did not have a wife and family. The Catholic Priesthood strives to IMITATE OUR LORD as much as we possibly can...

ANY VOW shouldn't be violated. GEEZ, is this what the world is coming to? When there is no honor in promises made to God? To anyone? I guess you would agree, vows made in marriage can be just as easily dishonored? Well, that's the world for you...no wonder our divorce rate is so stinkin' high.... nobody honors vows anymore... I'm not talking about this priest. Nice try at trying to make yourself look like a "better" catholic then me because I disagree with mandatory celibacy though.
