Hmmmm, perhaps I should call the good Doctor and see what has been up with him these days. It has been a while and he was one of the best professors at FUS.

Pity he was underappreciated by the student body because of that nasty rumor that he "was too hard."

That's why I liked him.

Exactly, you only remember the difficult professors and forget the easy ones - the difficult ones you learn the most from and grow the most in your field.

Indeed. I'll never forget one story in particular that involved a student asking my opinion on whether or not he or she should take Dr. Hildebrand.

Friend [with course catalogue in hand]: "Kevin, do you know anything about Dr. Hildebrand?"

Me: "Yes."

Friend: "What do you think of him?"

Me: "Great teacher. You should take his class."

Friend [whose face just sunk]: "Oh, really? See, I heard he was hard."

Me: "That's why I like him."

I found out later this person opted not to take the course.

Which begs the question - are they now asking "Would you like fries with that?"

I love Dr. Hildebrand :) I took 4 or 5 classes with him while at Franciscan. He was definitely challenging but it was worth it!

I'll never forget him telling me it was not too late for me to back out of my engagement to Micah! lol

Ah I love these mini Steubie reunions on PM.

Good times, good times.

I want to go back to my Alma Mater so bad. Maybe Easter next year if God wills it.
