This Lent and Holy Week was/is beyond words for me. I underwent some changes, moved by God's ineffable grace. I can honestly say for the first time in my life after 30 years of kicking and screaming and weeping that I've experienced God and Jesus Christ in some sort of profound way, beyond words or symbols or anything. If God is a consuming fire, he has completely, and hopefully irrevocably consumed me and especially my ego.

About two weeks before Good Friday after much prayer and examination of conscience. Deep examination of everything, I went to the Liturgy of Reconciliation at the Cathedral. And I confessed everything to my Bishop in confession, yet I somehow decided this days before. not somehow, not by my own efforts, yet by this mysterious movement which I have only a few times experienced before. Grace. And this was like a dream confession for I recieved the Sacrament of Penance with a sorrow and with a faith beyond all words like the Medieval theologians presented it:

'The experience of sacramental confession and absolution itself transforms the attitude of the sinner so that his initial aversion from sin becomes a sorrow motivated purely by love of God.'

From there it was consolation to the nines. It was a realization and self-actualization that in freedom and in this merciful grace of God, that in this sort of definitive moment in my life everything has opened up and has changed me like never before. Since then I've gone to Mass everyday and recieved the Lord Jesus Christ in Holy Communion. Also I have studied the great genuises of Christianity everyday without reserve. And I am humbled and streghtended all at once. You must realize I've been waiting for a moment like this for many years. And there is little else to say right now, other than Jesus Christ yesterday, Jesus Christ today, Jesus Christ tommorrow and Jesus Christ forever.

If you are feeling sad and downtrodden say:

Lord I commend my past to your Infinite Mercy. My present to your mysterious Grace. And my future to your incomprehensible Providence.

Or say:

Jesus, I trust in you.

Oh Blood and Water which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as a font of mercy for us, I trust in you.

or simply say:

Jesus Christ forever.

For He will truly come when He wills dear children. He is faithful to the end. Not like men. And He will change you like never before:
{42:3} The bruised reed he will not break, and the smoldering wick he will not extinguish. He will lead forth judgment unto truth.

I am telling you. Our God. The Holy Trinity is like nothing words could possibly explain. Nothing at all. And I have prayed for you these past few weeks, even some of you by name. And God hears sincere prayers and I love you with the kiss of peace.

May the grace and peace of Jesus Christ be with you forever.

Amen.

{138:1} Unto the end. A Psalm of David. O Lord, you have examined me, and you have known me.
{138:2} You have known my sitting down and my rising up again.
{138:3} You have understood my thoughts from afar. My path and my fate, you have investigated.
{138:4} And you have foreseen all my ways. For there is no word in my tongue.
{138:5} Behold, O Lord, you have known all things: the newest and the very old. You have formed me, and you have placed your hand over me.
{138:6} Your knowledge has become a wonder to me. It has been reinforced, and I am not able to prevail against it.

Resurrexi, et adhuc tecum sum, allelulia. posuisti super me manum tuam allelulia: mirabilis facta est scientia tua, allelulia, allelulia.

I am risen, and I am still with You, Allelulia. You have rested your hand upon me allelulia. Your knowledge is wonderful. Allelulia, alleluia.

Next to the name Jesus Christ, these are some of the most beautiful words ever expressed.

It's been many years since I had a bishop hear my confession, but I very much remember how powerful an experience it was.
