FaustinaVianney
that's is funny, but kinda true... Jesuits tend to have a Mass that does not offend the Protestants...they want everyone to 'feel' loved...that is why they do not have crucifixes any longer (not even in/near the sanctuary). they say that it offends people that are not Catholic. They call the parish on campus 'nondenominational' because Catholics are not the only ones that come here and they want everyone to feel the warm fuzzies. (No crucifixes, Jesus (the tabernacle) is in another room and not the sanctuary, et al)The problem is that they are taken away the very things that make them Catholic because they do not want to 'step on any toes.' For some reason they think that to proclaim the truth is offensive or 'unloving'...

amarkich
That is hilarious, but it is true that this joke is also true for most Diocesan Parish Masses (at least those in the South and Life Teen; the Masses in the North were not as bad as here, but they were still bad). The destruction of the Liturgy is a major issue throughout the Church, not just for the Jesuits. Here is a true story; it is not a joke. My friend was at a Parish Mission with a Jesuit. Here is the dialogue of the Mass, in English, facing the people, etc., etc. Priest: Peace be with you. People: And also with you. Priest: Thank you. Thank you. As far as I know this was done every time, including "The Lord be with you; And also with you". This is not a huge Liturgical abuse compared to all the other evils out there, but it is just the epitome of the deritualization that is going on concerning the Liturgy.
